i tried getting in the chat room for the first time and it says im banned! Ive never been there before so whats up?

 

Did the same thing to me. I sent an email to the webmaster several days ago and have not gotten a response yet.

 

Doesnt anyone know why this is happening?

It's probably due to a ban on a domain or IP set because of some troublemaker. Dynamic IPs make it next to useless to ban a specific IP, so they ban everything above it to include that IP. It's very common on IRC chats (for example to ban AOL users).

 

Do you have AOL?? I have heard that all AOL users are banned. It must be something to do with AOL, maybe not compatible??

 

I do have aol, but it has let me in once before so i dint think its that.

 

yes aol is banned due to recuring problems from a few members who abuse this priviledge . we know who they are and they know who they are but unfortunately there is no way to block them than to drop aol as a whole :-( AOl is for %^ i have it and use a friends server to access chat thru mirc as i am a chat moderator as well

So until aol changes its ways we are stuck doing it like this as a last resort a definite case of the few affecting the whole :-(
but as of now we can take no other action, if welet them in, chat is usueless anyhow due to flaming spamming and countless other abuses :-(
