History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
I was thinking that this forum might be the best place for some of you with great memories.
I have been hunting these valve covers for a flew years because I feel or think these are era correct however not a perfect solution with centerbolt heads but conversion parts are avaliable for fitment.
Anyone know the history or timeline of these valve covers?
They came in tall & short & also stamped B & M & uqnstamped version. With 3 IROCs currently I think they have found a home & with the TPI fins, I think make a cool looking valve cover especially once everything is polished.
They remind me of the Edelbrock Elite covers. I dig 'em. They used to have the Edelbrocks for centerbolt covers also, but haven't seen them in a few years.
Edelbrock still makes these to this day but they just simulate 2 piece covers.
There just isn't much info out there on these B & M covers but I remember them for way back but back them I was into much older cars.
i never noticed them before. pretty cool. looks like a guy sold a set a while back for a pretty penny. would be neat knowing some history.

Since the original question wasn't answered, even though it's almost 4 years later, here it is...The two pc tall B&M aluminum valve covers were available in the mid-to-late 1980's, which is when I installed a pair on a 327 I built for my 1969 El Camino.

How do you remove the top piece of the vintage b&m valve cover? What is the going price for these valve covers?

Thank you. I didn’t buy the ones he was trying to sell because something was definitely off. The deal didn't have a good vibe. I believe he would have accepted PayPal but my gut soad pass.
