The cold start injector can't be disabled via the PROM/calibration. That system is independent from the ECM.
RBob.
If I may clarify this, the 9th cold start injector is independent of the ECM BUT, the ECM needs to be re-calibrated for more cranking fuel to replace the added fuel from the 9th injector. The 9th injector delete is beyond just adding the extra fuel via re-calibration as the 9th injector must be unplugged (at the least) or completely removed and ports plugged as is typical for this mod. HTH!
thanks guys, taking the blue cover off worked like a charm.
the adapter is from TPI Parts to disable the ninth injector. the car now idles at around 1500rpm and misses when I rev the engine.
This is a possible sign of the ECM not running off the prom. Be sure you have the prom seated into the adapter correctly and the adapter correctly seated into the socket on the ECM.

Lol turns out when unplugging the csi I accidentally left the pcv valve vacuum line unplugged which caused that. And also thanks for clarifying what Rbob said. It mimics the 89 maf tpi cars way of adding a little extra fuel to each cylinder instead of using the ninth injector.
I have it unplugged for now. Not going to remove the injector though, I plan on doing a carbed 383 in the next few years, this chip was just to get me buy until then. Thanks again

Air that is not metered by the MAF messes things up. It affects the AFR and SA which contributes to idle instability.

What he said, thank you al55.
