Still have some ways to go. I do not know if I should undercoat under the car. I read POR-15 is the way to go if your car is rusty. Under my car is not rusty what I though was rust was dirt. Actually it cleaned up really good under there with degreaser and the garden hose.
Any suggestions??? Is it even worth it spraying the undercarriage or is it just for looks?
of course its worth coating the undercarriage, not just for looks. the issue is that some undercoatings can trap moisture between the rubberized coating and the metal causing it to rust and rot without you ever even seeing it. por15 is a very trusted item and I would encourage using that.
what I did was sand and rustoleum the underbody. I did this about 3 years ago and it has held up incredibly well.
Look for a place with a lift that could media blast it is my best advice. Otherwise use a wire wheel on a grinder, some phosphoric acid and use whatever coating on it you want. Undercoating, por-15, Rustoleum, whatever. If you are worried about rocks chipping the finish off undercoating or Por-15 would be better.
