C4 L98 EGR vs. F-body EGR

What is the difference between the f-body EGR and the C4 EGR set up?

I've the chance to buy a low mile C4 L98 but since I live in California I have to smog the car. The smog guy might call out an external EGR.

Hard to say, depends on the smog tech. All smog equipment will be present in the stock locations, just the EGR tubing is external on the vette I think. I'm not sure the reference they use will get that specific?

I sure hope not. Other than that it's a direct swap. All the f-body parts should just bolt up.

If you have headers you might want to contact dyno don or scoggin dickey and see if they still make sd3816. Sd3816 use to be the pictured kit now the vortec intake on.

Thanks Tuned. I'll contact them and see if they still make this kit.

If you can't find one you can always cut the piece off a vette manifold. I think I have the pieces as well .

Re: C4 L98 EGR vs. F-body EGR

Would I be able to pass smog if I got rid of the EGR system?
I could leave it in place to pass the visual and have it tuned out of the computer. Would that make the NOx emissions to high to pass?

Sounds good. I'd need to do that if I bought a zz6 crate motor
