CarburetorsCarb discussion and questions. Upgrading your Third Gen's carburetor, swapping TBI to carburetor, or TPI to carburetor? Need LG4 or H.O. info? Post it here.
I have been searching and I know its been covered. carbing an LT1 motor.
for ratrod s10.
my question is. instead of buying old used sbc mani and drilling it.
could I use the stock EFI intake mani and weld closed the TB hole. and drill a large hole on top and weld an adapter and bolt on carb?..
or wouldn't work because no actual runners? new to old carb stuff.....sorry
im for more work than spending. even it ifs ridiculous(within my capability)
just want this motor I got basiclay free to run and make this s10 move some how
if it works. anyone done it. trying to save pennies. but I can macroweld alu
cant really see your pic though. very small. but i have the same concept in my brain
The knowledge we have of how runners and plenums and stuff works is the reason you're getting the responses you are getting. I just hate to see a good LT1 go to waste.
Don't rat rods HAVE to have a big block? Pretty sure there's a rule out there that they do.

Which is why none of us here would EVER do ... THAT ... to a perfectly good Holley.
That's the sum total of the worst of all worlds, right there (aside from the alternate-ethnicity-of-your-choice engineering): the wet flow of a carb, the "tuned" effect of the TPI runners. Doesn't get much worse than that.
