So, from the previous owner, I've got some kind of custom black stripe in the right area but I want to go OEM. So I need to add a silver stripe or replace the whole thing. Anyone know if I can get just the silver? I am getting rid of the powder coated factory rims and factory smoke tailights.

Thanks. It's funny, even with the blacked out rims, I got plenty of "nice car", but now that I've put on a set of decent stock rims and OEM tail lights, I hear "oh wow, that's a classic", and "nice"! Glad to see that the cars are catching back on.
88-90 had the black on TOP.....85-87 had black on bottom. Looks like your black stripe is butted right up against the ground effect, so to be period correct, you'd have to do the whole kit anyway.
...I work installing/designing signs and vinyl graphics for a living, and I've done them individually on my own car before, and I can say that the kits are definitely easier!
Just get a spray bottle, fill it with water and a drop or two of dish detergent. Will do the same thing as their install gel and won't cost you a fortune.

Yep, ...with the emphasis on a drop or two. Two much soap and it'll go on just great, but it'll never actually set up and stick!

Thanks. I'd love to know the history of this car. When I got it, it was nice in the "right" places for me. A very nice paint job, very good upholstry, and a new top- the main things I can not do myself. Mechanically I think it had not been driven much for a good while and was really limping along. Mechanicals and powertrain are squarely in my wheelhouse. Now it's running strong but their's plenty of project left in this project.
