So we are a single income family and we love it, I work and wife stays at home. We figure our children are only children once and it's nice to be able for them to participate in any sports or anything else of that nature, with that said and having a mortgage, new car payment for the wife and every other every day bills we all have restoring my GTA will be put off until my oldest is out of school. So in the meantime I just drive and maintain it and try to make it as nice as I can on a tight budget. I need new GTA badges badly as the original deteriated while it was in the field for 10 years before I rescued it. So until I can afford the proper peices I want some feedback good or bad.
Thanks Chaz, there are purist that don't care for it. I met one at Autorama at Atlanta motor speedway the other week. I like it because of my love for the second gens.
Yeah ya noticed my seats huh? The 10 years in the field killed GTA seats and got a super deal on the 4th gen leather seats. Originals are mothballed until I can come up with$1200 to redo them.
Make your car what you want it to be. It looks good and its your car do what you want with it. Mine has parts off 3 r 4 different cars hell it started out as a Formula.
Thanks everyone, glad y'all like em. Heck when I get around to a complete teardown it may wind up with an actual 2nd gen decal kit on it. It has defenitly grown on me.
The only way I would be upset is if you let it sit in a field and rot. You don't have to make it 100% right away, hell you don't have to make it 100% ever! Just keep loving it and try to keep it on the road...

Looks nice. I like the whole second gen meshed with 3rd gen thing you have going. The bird on the hood would look slick. I say make your car the way you want and screw what others think. I think the Barret Jackson collector types are boring. How are you supposed to enjoy a car if you are too worried about making sure it is the way it came off the show room floor?

I always wonder why people pay money for a car and then never drive it! Watched a show last night where a guy bought a 1998 SS camaro with 1800 miles on it. That's an average of 100 miles a year! I drive more then that on a nice day just because!

Put your own subtle touches on it.
The only thing I disagree with is waiting until your oldest is out of school. Yeah, the big money might have to wait; but work on the car with your oldest (male or female). They want to be interested in what you are interested in, and they want to work with you and spend time with you - that is priceless.
Invite them in on the project.
You are exactly right, he does work on it with me and I wouldn't take anything for it. I bought him a 03 Z71 that me and my son are about to do an engine job on together. The only thing with the GTA that will have to wait until he is done with school is a complete teardown and rebuild. Hopefully when that day comes he will still want to help his ole man.
