I pretty much did everythings myself except for machine work and the intercooler piping. If I don't see over 850 to the wheel I'm gonna be pissed

Is that the stock vortech manual tensioner you are using? If so, then you will have issues trying to get more than 7 lbs out of it. The stock vortech manual tensioner blows chunks.
What blower are you using, ysi? What pulley combo?
I made my own bracket with automatic tensioner and got 12.5lbs, but killed the trans and now the motor is being rebuilt.

I'm got a vortec V1 T trim.. with a cog drive..it can put out more then I would ever use..
as for the 700R4..it took $2300 in just Sonnax/TCI hard parts... and cryo treating other parts.. the converter was $700 on top of that..
don't know of any body whos putting all the newest hard parts in the 700R4..but thats also with a trans brake..

I dont know anyone using a 700r in any high hp setup with success lol. Th400 or 4l80e only. But on the net i have seen posts of buick gn guys using 200r4's well and some vette guys running 4l60e variants into the high 8 low 9 sec range but the price for that trans you can have a 2000 hp capable th400 or 1500 hp ish 80e

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
have always had them hold up to 500hp to the rear wheels.in the 90s..now will see if it can take a bit more... the big thing now it making it close ratio. with over drive..in the size it is..anybody can take a th400 and add a overdrive..its alot bigger and yes can take 1000hp
but.. that's a th400.. lets see some one make a close ratio 700r4 that ya can beat on..and use the parts made to day..its not cheap..
so your not going to buy one for $1800...lol
and now ya don't have that RPM drop from 1st to 2nd..and 2nd to 3rd...its about time!
today you can buy a 800cid eng making 1200hp on pump gas NA.. no boost or Nitrous...its all about having fun..and having $70.000

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
go with a 1.6 ratio on the rockers. as the duration is a bit low on the intake..just me..
remember with the larg cid small blocks..the cid eats up the cam size.. intake a exst duration in the 248/250 with the cid your running will not act like in a 350 383 cid...= will feel like a smaller cam...in a 434...and the sound of the larger small blocks..well youll like it..
the things we do to make things fit

Its alot smaller than what i'd run on those heads and cubes. I'd go 10-12 deg bigger and a 1.6 rocker

Update I went to the dyno back in September the car put out 926 pound feet of torque only 575 horse at 4600 RPM we did not have big enough injectors to make a full so we stopped after that time I considered upgrading the connecting rods to hold more power during a disassembly noticed that it had to lifted ringlands they were damaged before the dyno

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
I think that we could have got more horsepower out of it with more tuning on the timing but we felt that it was so dangerous that we should stop until we had enough fuel

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
So my plan is to come back bigger and better for the upgrades header size during these pulls was an 1 5/8th
New header 1 7/8th stepped to 2"
New camshaft
1206 port job on intake

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
What injectors are in it?
you’ll want something closer to 80-100 lbs hr for gas nearer 900-1000 whp

I'm running a 8-inch on the bottom 2.75 on the top this pull was on 13 lb I'm doing something called at torque booster setup which is popular with the Ford Community I have a wastegate installed on one of the charge pipes and I bleed off boost similar to a turbo setup I'm using a boost controler

Re: 434 stroker vortech v7
nice Ed Quay. . I think that is going to be my best option too. I live only 2 hours from his shop (and my wifes parents house is only 20 mins from his shop) so theres a chance I might just bring the car there and either have them build them in the shop, or just take measurements and ship them to me. let me know how you like his headers, photos, etc from the info I have read on TGO, his headers seem to be the best big headers that don't sacrifice ground clearance on lowered cars

Following
First cam looks similar to the one I have right now.
I also ran out of injectors but that issue should be solved now I hope.

Do you think the stealth ram is choking the system? A lot of guys are running large single plane set up.
Your set up looks great. I'd love to run something like this someday too.
Who did the exhaust?

I think the stealth ram like the miniram is ok to about 63-6500 rpm on a NA big cube. Supercharged I wouldn't know. My builder has a custom ported miniram by the owner of AFR. Was tested at 415cfm. But it's on a 450 sbc.

I was thinking that I was going to have issues with the stealth Ram but I know a few people making the thousand horsepower Turbo with the stealth Ram he was running slightly smaller cubic inch and only a 1205 Port job
