I'm not a 305 buff that seems pretty slow. I think a lot of 305 cars can get in the 14s 1/4 mile.

forgot to mention that the air I think was bad being the temp was 105 degrees and the humidity was 39% that day.

Re: my 1/8th mile time 86 LB9 140000 miles

There was another 305 thirdgen trans am up there and I smoked him every time.. head 30,000 miles on his engine.. although it was an 84 carbed car but it also had a performance transmission as well with a 22 or 2400 stall.. mine is more built than his but was still fun with 305 vs 305. Lb9 cars were that much more power than the carbed or what. Good guy though.. he kept wanting to run me lol.

Re: my 1/8th mile time 86 LB9 140000 miles

My LB9 with less done to it that would make it faster at 129,000 miles (it would the valve guides were so worn that it would blow oil smoke sitting at idle after about 30seconds or so):

Caption from the video:
This is an '87 Trans Am with an internally stock LB9 (305 TPI) + T5 with headers. It also had a 9" ford rear swapped in with slightly better gears (3.50), but that's probably a net loss since it's MUCH heavier than the 10 bolt. It's also running a MegaSqurit ECM, mostly because the stock MAF died and I had the MS sitting around, nothing done there that couldn't be done with the stock ECM and some chip burning. The car weighed 3580 that day, me, about 250.

I was having problems with the coil wire popping off. You can hear it misfiring in the burnout box and it wouldn't rev past about 3400rpm doing the burnout. After the pass I found the coil wire sitting next to the coil tower popped completely off, I'm not sure how it was running.

The rest of the timeslip:
Pass 5
Lane 2
Reaction 0.183
60ft. 1.852
330ft. 5.564
1/8 Mile ET 8.667
1/8 Mile Speed 79.73
1000ft 11.351
1/4 Mile ET 13.622
1/4 Mile Speed 99.89

FWIW, you can look up historical data for weather on wunderground (Capital Raceway in Crofton MD) and then use one of the online calculators correct that and your pass to standard and compare them. I suspect that the conditions for that day have that I had little correction where if you were at elevation you probably have a bit (I'm curious what track is 3900 above sea level?).

Doing some quick estimating (converting your times to 1/4mile and then adjusting for the conditions you listed, if you gave me a track and a date it would be more exact) it looks like that works out to about:

which I think is about average to pretty good for what people around here run with these cars (I go faster with everything, but that's just me )

Re: my 1/8th mile time 86 LB9 140000 miles

that's awesome... it was at an airstrip, in Helena montana.

I did install my new AS&M runners and a awesome job on porting and polishing up the upper plenum. I did feel a difference in power all through the rpm's. also ran a friends 91 5.0 mustang/auto with 35,000 miles with a cold air intake and ignition mods and a cat back and a little weight reduction from a light going on to a highway and from the dig I consistently ripped from him and on a roll from 35+ I pulled from him. I didn't pull real hard but I pulled from him with no problem. but from the dig. . .... I raped him bad..

I thought the fox body's were suppose to be more superior in straight line? I have also raced an 86 fox body and beat it even worse than the 91.
