FOUND A GM TUNED PORT BADGE! PICS...

After a few minutes of searching found the part number for the 5.7 tuned port injection badge. A few more minutes led me to Camaro central in Kentucky. Showed available so I called them up. Gave him the number, and he says yea, we still have a couple $131 shipped? Yea, I'll pay that! Looks legit to me

Be sure to check out some posts recently done by Chazman regarding the aftermarket emblems. I hope this isn't one of them.

Make sure it's still in the GM bag, since you are paying top dollar for it.

Re: FOUND A GM TUNED PORT BADGE!

Back in 1998 they were about $28 at the dealer. I've still got one on the shelf for the Iroc. If it's worth $130+ I'll probably put the good used one stuck to the garage fridge on the car instead.

Re: FOUND A GM TUNED PORT BADGE!

I paid $100 for a GM NOS piece to replace the sketchy repro which replaced my not so bad original piece on my '89.

I did get another NOS emblem in the GM bag, which I'll probably be too scared to open.

I got about 10-12 perfect NOS ones made by GM's supplier back in the day, but the plant closed before the adhesive tape was applied.

I figure I've got a couple of lifetimes supply now, as long as I only need silver ones and no 5.7s.

Re: FOUND A GM TUNED PORT BADGE!

I read that thread about the sub par quality of certain aftermarket ones. That's why I was scouring the web for a nos GM. Piece. He says it's GM original still in the package. If I understood him right I think he's got a red one as well. And yea, when I get it I might also chicken out and not put it on, lol!

I actually just got a repro one from Hawks last week and the quality looked really good to me. I didnt notice any defects in it so maybe they have corrected the issues with the aftermarket ones??

If thats true, then they should have given Chaz an apology & a replacement rather than a restocking charge.

Well DMCPONT, the manufacturer of the repro emblems, told me that they would cut up all the current stock and retool for a new, better one and that he would send me one when that happened.

He seemed sincere, but still waiting.

And if the come up with a good repro, I'd buy one and put the one I'm buying in a glass case.

I am guessing the supplier you got those emblems from didn't have any 5.7 ones, did he?

WOW, I just found the 5.7 one I had on my last car in a box of junk in the garage. It was in 3 pieces and I tossed it in the trash!! Now I regret it
