Hello everyone this is my first post on the forum and it is about my new project car! I found this 1989 Iroc in a guys driveway and it has been sitting for a few years the owner says the fuel pump went out (or at least he thinks) he said it just stated sputtering and died then he parked it in his driveway for a few years he did not really care to get it looked at or anything. He said he got some maintenance stuff done before that and he was just frustrated with it so he put off fixing it, he had it since 1991 when he bought it from a old lady who won it in a contest and could not drive it because it is a five speed manual so short story short i paid $500 for it and i took it to my dad's shop and tomorrow i will be hard at work on it i am gonna leave what i know about it in terms of motor and stuff like that below.

Lucky sob. I couldn't find an iroc at all when I was looking. The one I did find was a non running rust bucket that was way over priced. $500 is definitely a steal as long as it's not rusted.
These pictures where taken at my dad's shop and that mustang is a customers it needs a new motor but my dad redid the full brake and fuel system and some other stuff to.
***UPDATE*** The car is running and driving i plan to put tires on it tomorrow and take it for a real test drive to see how everything is and to see if there is any issues i can not see right now.I started buffing the car and i brought back some of the shine i probably should have wet sanded it first but this is fine for right now I plan on getting the car painted in the future, gonna include some pictures of how i found it as well so you can see the difference.

Looks like the vertical surfaces still have good paint, but the horizontal surfaces have clear coat failure. BTW, you have the '89 and '90 only 15" IROC-Z wheels.
A little bit has happened since last update I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and have decided to have our paint and body guy plastidip the car just to see what it would look like before i invest more into a real paint job I am going to leave some pictures of kinda what the car will look like but i will be adding a color shift pearl on top of mine so it will look a little different but it is basically a grabber blue.
Car is straight, keep it black. How's the floor board metal? T-tops can make for a lot ventilation down there in a car that has sat outside. Lots of potential there.
Been a while since i posted a update so here is just a mini one i have been driving the car everyday to work and school and it has given me few issues and i have decided that i will just save up and paint the car or keep the current paint i am also picking up a dash that is not cracked and a 3 inch cowl hood form a local for $150 just to change it up a little. For the person asking about the floors they are really good and only a little bit of surface rust on the left rear floor pan, there are gonna be some more suspension stuff done and some interior stuff done to get ready for the next auto cross season i really liked the last one i went to and it was a great way to learn the limits of the car.
