Re: Found these seatbelt sleeves

This might be a dumb question but how are they installed over the seat belt?

Re: Found these seatbelt sleeves

Probably unbolt seat belt receiver assembly from center tunnel and slip the end plate in from the top.

I just bought this stuff, cut to length and heat gunned it. Works perfect and pretty sure it can be painted for a perfect match.

Re: Found these seatbelt sleeves

The originals are secured where the small round hole is.With a sonic weld if some type, real PITA to undo, but not impossible.Once done they simply slip out from the top.

Re: Found these seatbelt sleeves

It's nice that reproductions are available, but it stinks that they're damn expensive for such a basic part.

See the hole just above the bolt hole? If you look at the stock receivers, there's a molded divot in the sleeves around that same point. If you slip a flat screwdriver into the sleeve through the bolt hole, and pry carefully the sleeve will break free and slide right off. There's a hole in the mounting tab that the sleeve is molded into. The plastic plug that comes with the replacement pins them back in place. I suppose a pic is worth 1000 words...

To anyone that doesn't have a Gray or Black interior -- these CANNOT be dyed. I have tried several times, with multiple coats of adhesion promoter. Dye comes off immediately when they come into contact with anything, particularly if the seat is moved forwards or backwards (which it has to be to install these).

Here's a pic of the gray 3M shrink tube. It's a little light but not as bad as the pics with the flash too close. I am going to pickup a close color match touch up or bumper paint and be done. Works perfectly.

These are from Hawks. They’re selling them for $60 for the pair.
