I don't even know what their official name is to search. What are their called and where can I get them? 1987 Camaro, there are the small hard plastic round pieces that the t-top pin locks into when you fasten down the t-top. Where can I get then new? or does anyone have any nice used ones?
Jay
Hmmmm
From the looks of a 84 Fisher top where the front pin slides into the reciever
on the A pillar that the assembly is 2 seperate pieces.
The hidden piece is the one that tightens against the pin.
I have never had the area apart so I can only assume its 2 seperate pieces.
I wonder if the hidden piece is adjustable?
Maybe Lon at http://www.top-downsolutions.com/ has parts and a idea.
Maybe another member has a GM parts diagram and pic.............
They're adjustable, but most people make the mistake of trying to adjust them tighter to fix a small water leak, and when they make the adjustment the weatherstrip on the T-top doesn't line up with the weatherstrip on the A and B pillars. Which makes the leaks worse. Also overcompressing the rubber seals defeats the built in drain channel between the inner and outer lips, so again, more leaks.
So in short, they have to be adjusted right, and most people never bother to understand what they're adjusting.
Thanks for the ebay link!! Those are exactly what I need and will grab. 2 of mine are worn as it looks like the prior owner force it to lock and rounded out the hole
GM calls them a "Striker". Part numbers vary depending on the year, but for 84-92 20476980 should be correct. 82-83 show different part numbers for RH 20298546 and LH 20298547.
Of course for best results, a person should look up the numbers themself and read the catalog to get the right ones.
FUNNY............Most GM parts sites (i searched both bird and camaro) for that
20476980 striker number and they say discontinued and have no pic and the other
related pieces are discontinued also, no pics either).
The prices are list for less than $4 bucks!
One site sez 82-92 front and rear, another sez right rear so fit descriprion
is puzzling.

It's been 25 years. A lot of stuff was NLA by 2002. The only items that are still available are going to be reproductions, or parts that other GM cars also use. Don't expect to find any new GM parts.
Also, 1992 part numbers have usually been superseded at least once. It can take some searching to find the new number, when there is a new number anyway.
