The $100 to register is a bit steep, but it could be a bargain if there aren't many bidders for it.

Hmm, the only thing I've ever seen at Goodwill are miles of hot air popcorn poppers, and 30 year old Mr Coffee carafes.
I feel cheated.

How many bidders paid the $100 fee?
How long before we see it on e-bay or at Mecum?

These prices keep climbing like this, I'll be able to justify having my 87 repainted. In three years I've gone from "I have too much in that car, I'll never be able to sell it" to "Wow, the book value doubled in the last three years!" to "Go ahead and get it professionally repainted, the value will only go up!". Kind of crazy to see Irocs going for crazy money.

36k isn't all that unusual. Not like some of the crazy low miles cars out there. As those crazy low mile cars get scooped up, cars with more miles will increase in value too.
This wasn't a "Grail" car, it wasn't even clean when it was auctioned. It wasn't a high end auction either, and it's the wrong time of year really to be selling. This represents a trickle down of rising prices.
And just when I thought I could put a zillion miles on mine and finally add some more bolt-ons. Oh twell.

Re: Hmmm 89 IROC Cincy Craigslist at goodwill
So, when I bought my white '89 convertible a couple years ago, I figured that with 7200 miles, condition wise, it would be in the same ballpark as my black '89, 11K mile hardtop. This is after looking at many pictures, several videos and having someone check it out for me in person. It wasn't, not even in the same league. It's a great car and I'm glad I have it, but it obviously had not spent it's life being lovingly protected and preserved in the way I had expected.
Here's something I've learned. It's easier and more satisfying to bring a car which on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 5, up to an 8, than it is to take an 8 and make it a 9.
If you can find a low mile, beautifully preserved car - now that's a homerun!
With all that said, this car seems well bought, judging by the pics. Hardtop means it could be a G92 with N10.

Yea I had dreams of scoring this for @$6000. lol. Now I’m glad I went to bed after work instead of staying up. I wasn’t gong anywhere near that price. The Goodwill description said New tires and Engine Light on stating Mass Air Flow sensor, but Orig owner replaced it and light stays on. Not to bad for a donated car. When you background the car, the donor purchased the car in 2016?? Id like to see the Carfax. Wonder what the tax write off was on the donation.

And here I was certain I was overpaying when I paid $6,000 for the 87 305/5spd/G92 IROC I ordered new when I found/bought it back in November of 2014. Glad I didn't wait!

Just flipping channels late night. Someone hunting for a tank vent valve bumped a few threads, so it ended up in the New Posts list.
