Supercharged LQ4 19992 Z-28

Well its time for me to get off my tail and get this project started. The car is a 1992 Z28 that i have owned since 1994. It started as a 305 Auto and was replaced with a 383 when that let go racing a 300Z. That combination went great for a few years until with one of the original PA racing k-members and Accel DFI being added and a slew of upgrades here and there. That combination did well for a few years until it was ready for the next upgrade. Keeping the 383 and getting it ready for a D1X Procharger. Unfortunately my engine builder built a 2 bolt main motor and then went out of business when i was ready to put it in the car. Many years of sitting a few military deployments... a divorce an amazing new girlfriend and I'm ready to start this combination and get this show on the road. I am tired of watching from the sideline.

Whats going in:

Driveline

LQ4 stockish motor
Techo 3.0 Supercharger
B&M 4L80
Ford 9 rear end (don't know what gears yet open to suggestions)

Suspension
If I can catch a good combination from UMI then it will change over to all UMI but if not what ever deal I can afford

Aftermarket a-arms Spohn or UMI
Weight Jacks Ground Control or UMI
Caster Camber Plates Founders or UMI
Bump steer Kit Spohn or ?
Tokico shocks - want Koni's but i already own these
Rear springs (BMR already own these)
Sway bars upgraded don't remember from who
Tubular K -member (don't know from who it came with motor)
Have a strut tower brace but don't think it will fit over motor combination
CTS-v brakes front and rear
Aftermarket trailing Arms and Panhard rod but want a Watts link if I can get it to fit with the Ford 9

Chasis
6 Point weld in roll cage
Alston sub frame connectors
Competition Engineering Frame connectors

Exhaust
Hawks headers
Mufflex 4" exhaust
Need to do something about getting this combination together comments welcome

Im probably missing a few things here and here and there are other things that will get added as I realize what I'm missing I will add video on my Youtube channel (first video up getting motor and transmission together) and a few pictures here and there. I need to get this moving because I need to take some time to put a motor in my truck that my nephew let oil starve. The goal is to get a running moving car by mid summer depending on good deals and money.

My next video will be getting my brakes cleaned up and assembled

Made a little progress this week. Painted the spindles, brake calipers, and rotors. Im just waiting on new bearings and the brake assembly can go in. Also found some old pictures of the previous set up.

Re: Supercharged LQ4 19992 Z-28

Unfourtunatly I couldn't get any work done on the car today... but ordered Spohn A-arms and founders caster camber plates....need to order UMI weight jacks also ordered Astro steering shaft. Trying to get everything together while the motor is out...Solid transmission mount comes in next week and Ill try to put in the motor and transmission from the bottom. I was going to go all UMI but after a call they didnt have any discounts and my bank account wouldn't let me spend the extra 250 or so

Re: Supercharged LQ4 19992 Z-28

A little progress suspension and brakes all painted. getting ready to paint the engine compartment. This is a first for me so hopefully I do it correct... I was always told preperation will make or break a paint job....so I've looked up a few steps on Youtube and see what shakes out.

Re: Supercharged LQ4 19992 Z-28

Not alot of updates for this week but I am at a point of stop collecting parts and put parts in. All suspension components are in except rod ends for steering linkage(Yes I know i might not like it.)

Secondly new transmission cooler came in and I am a overjoyed about it. I am going to try and install under where the battery goes since the battery will be in the back where the spare tire was.

It suppose to be a warm weekend, I am going to try and get the engine compartment painted and done..... next comes install motor.
