LQ4 or LQ9 swap into 3RD Gen T/A
Ive been interested in the LS1 engine swap with 6SPD tranny, but then i realized that the LQ4 and LQ9 are 6.0L LS1 based engines, and want to throw one of those into my T/A, they are capable of more HP, and i ca pick them up about a thousand cheaper than an LS1, i want to know if anyone else has done this swap, and if anyone has any info on this, thanks.

thanks for your input, i appreciate it, also a few new questions brought into my mind, will the wiring harness and engine from a LQ4 or LQ9 be compatible with LS1 components, and 4th gen components such as, 4th gen dash and guages, LS1 supercharger, etc....

you might have to ditch the lq9/lq4 style intake, and get an LS6 style, just for hood clearance reasons. that HUGE plenum on the trucks motors, probably won't fit under our hoods.

well i got the ram air hood on my car, and if you look under that hood, it adds about an extra 3 to 4 inches of cowl, bit i still dont know how much of a diffrence the intake is, thanks

do you know if they make any sort of an upgrade for the truck intakes, i know they have plenty of them for the LS1, but any for the LQ9, also i jus came up on a good deal for some fuel rail covers off of a C5, i think, butwill they fit on a LQ4 or LQ9. thanks
