LS swap mid-length headers

I was looking at Hedman's mid-length swap headers but after numerous phone calls, no one will tell me if it will work with my Spohn tubular k member and trans mount. Has anyone done this before or know if it will fit?

Re: LS swap mid-length headers

I think the headers are designed to stay clear of the engine mounts, so I don’t think an aftermarket K member would be a factor. Also, the mid-length headers won’t go past the bellhousing. The y-pipe is the section that passes the cross member. This thread has some good photos of the hedman mid-length headers:

Why do you want to go with mid length versus long tubes.

Thanks for the mention, that's my build thread. I was the first on the boards to try the mid-tubes. 6-7 years later they are still going strong.

OP with less in the way, I'm sure they would clear. I see no reason they wouldn't.

Ground clearance. Also, the fractional amount of torque you would give up is a non-issue. My car puts down 422rwhp through the mid-tubes. Unless you want a dyno-queen track car, squeezing every last .01 out of your ET, the mid-tubes are great option for someone with a street driven car.

Re: LS swap mid-length headers

The only reason that I have the hedman long tubes is that another member sold me a new pair for a great price. Ground clearance is a PITA, though. I can’t take it to the quick oil change places. They sound great, but I did an LS swap again, I’d go mid-length.

Re: LS swap mid-length headers

I just got the Kooks 1 - 7/8" mid lengths and had 0 issues, even though they say they recommend an aftermarket cross member. I can drop them in and take them out without needing to bang them on anything, or lift the motor as well. I went with them for clearance as well. I'm a huge fan of these mid lengths.
