Highway speed vibrations.

I have an 83 z28. I have the car lowered, with panhard bar with new shocks all the way around. New front and rear sway bar poly bushings and end links.
New 18 iroc rims on front and 20 on rear. Wheels and tires are freshly balanced. Around 60-75 the car is vibrating pretty bad. I would like to know if there is anything else I can change replace or adjust to correct my problem. I can’t tell if it’s from the front or rear. Randy

Re: Highway speed vibrations.

Wheels are probably not true. I had this problem with brand-new wheels from Circle Racing. I will NEVER do business with them again...

I hear ya. These are American racing replicas from summit. The tires are an off brand lionhart. They balanced true.

Re: Highway speed vibrations.

What about drive shaft and u-joints?

Swapped my drive shaft and all my woes went away in the vibration department.

Re: Highway speed vibrations.

I never really looked at the drive shaft. I’ll swap them out. And see. Thanks. Your driveshaft was out of balance?

Driveshaft vibration seems quite common in thirdgens. I might have got away with just doing the u-joints, but went with a Summit aluminum shaft.

Re: Highway speed vibrations.

You might check the trans mount, especially if you're running poly.

Re: Highway speed vibrations.

First have tires road forced and indexed to wheel properly. Most good tire stores or Dealers have the proper balancing machine to do this. A tire can be balanced put still vibrate from high road force readings. We do this daily with vibration problrms.
