Truck 350 into 82 firebird

I have a 75 truck 350 that im putting into an 82 firebird. I am eventually going to tear it down and build a 383 from the block, but gotta save coin for that and in meantime i want to drive the car. I know the motor is in good condition as we rebut it several years ago, thats another story for another day but it has less than 50 miles on it. I know its not a power house but it will make the car move and sound cool 😎. I am planning on using the flywheel and starter from truck, headers i will have to get, was looking at hedman 68460 headers, they are listed to fit, want to double check. Also car has cruise control, how do i delete all tbe crap for that? New speedo cable, and go straight from trans to dash? Not sure what throttle cable i need, part store listed 2, one was like 49" and other was 26" or so, dont remember off top of my head. If anyone has suggestions, this is my first car, always been into trucks. I should add the car had a carbed 305 in it that was blown by the po. The oil pans are tbe same depth, has fuel pressure regulator. Should be straight forward swap? With exception of exhast and wiring .

Use the intake, carb, distributor, etc off the 305. If the truck flywheel is a 168 tooth you'll probably want to switch to a 153 tooth and use a thirdgen starter, or even an aftermarket mini starter. The more you change, the less likely things will fit, and the more finicky it will likely be.

It has the same intake and carb as the 305 that i pulled out. Didnt think about using the distributor, be easier than making a wire for truck distributor. If it has 168, will iy not fit in the trans, i see now, itimay not bolt to converter. The throttle cable that is in the car is all cobbed and hacked and i dont like it lol .Sorry like i said ive never been too much into cars til recently.

Got motor all beautified, new starter, flexplate on order, need headers now. Started stripping engine bay for some paint. At work so unfortunately this is how it will sit for 2 weeks 😔. Going to get hedman 68460 headers and try a dual set up to the back with some short glasspacks. I think the mice decided they needed a home in the ac box. Want to try my hand at fibeglassing and build an ac delete cover.

I think you have your crank pulley on backwards.
I like the erection your PCV hose has.
Make sure the motor mount clamshells are on the right sides.
There is a left and a right.

Why not keep the ac and be able to cruise in comfort? My 88 has ac delete and it’s going back on this winter. Totally worth any hassle and horsepower it needs. Maybe I’m just getting old.

It has a smaller pully bolted on after crank pulley, dont really remember why, i have to take it off before i put motor in car. Yea i marked the clamshells when i took them off old motor, i made that mistake with an old s10 lol. I guess the motor got an erection from wanting to be put in the car haha

I hardly ever use ac in my truck, the wife isnt big on cars so she says she wont be riding in it very often. I always just roll the windows down and enjoy the fresh air. Nah you're not old im just yoing n dumb haha
