CarburetorsCarb discussion and questions. Upgrading your Third Gen's carburetor, swapping TBI to carburetor, or TPI to carburetor? Need LG4 or H.O. info? Post it here.
I have giving up on the q-jets and thought I would try a 1406 edelbrock carb. This is a non egr carb I had lying around and thought I would put it on the t.a. I have a some questions.
1. What do I do with the 3 electrical connectors, including the one on the throttle linkage? Just leave them unplugged?
2. Ok to just plug off the egr with a plate and gasket? Any other areas that should be plugged from the egr?
3. Any choke or check engine lights that will remain on?
4. Is this bent?
No, not bent.
Your CCC QJet was computer controlled, along with your distributor.
You can't just swap to a manual carb and everything else keeps working.

A non computer controlled distributor is a direct drop in.
And it will plug in to the wiring also.
But by not using the ECM you will lose the TCC torque converter lockup function at the very least.
To go this route, you basically have to set you car up the same way as the Canadian export cars. Those used manual Quadrajets, manual distributors, and you should follow their emission diagrams to maintain proper fuel tank venting.
