Small cap swap... Stuck!

In the top right it says to connect that plug to the stock coil conector...
Of course I don't have a stock coil conector like that because I am doing a large cap to small cap swap.

I found a pig tail to use, but I don't know what to wire it in to?

Any suggestions?

Re: Small cap swap... Stuck!

Are you asking what the plugs on the right are for ?
The gray body one is pink and white wire from the body harness coil power and tach.

Re: Small cap swap... Stuck!

Close.

Basically I am asking what conectors from a large cap distributor correspond to that conector on the small cap.

If I am getting the gist though, I need to connect it to my tach and a 12 volt power source that is ignition activated?

I have six unexplained connections under the hood, so I'm thinking I just have to find the right one. (I didn't take this apart, it was half installed and now Im trying to finish it)

Re: Small cap swap... Stuck!

Can you post a picture of the wires in question ?
There are 4 wires for the icm to the ecm
And the other two are ignition power and tach.
There was a jumper going from the coil to the icm. This goes away.
Are you trying to add the Accel 300+ ?

Yes the 300+ is part of the deal.

I will get pics of The wires up as soon as possible in the morning.

With the large cap distributor, you should have the wide flat connector to the ignition module, and then the connectors to the coil at the top of the cap. The coil connector on the small cap would be the two wires going to the coil on the large cap. Can you dig it?

Looking at the schematic.
The top connector hooks to the body wiring accessory power and tach
The lower plug hooks to the hei power and tach.
The bottom plug is unlabeled. It might be for icm power on the devorced coil setup.
If that’s the case I’m not sure you can adapt the 300+

As stated there are six wires in total. The factory ground gets replaced by the one in the Accel system. You need three independent terminal connectors that are entirely different from the large cap, which is more than likely why it was left unfinished. Do it the right way and buy them, and you will see how the instructions soon make sense.

This is how the harness is set up now, is that corecor with the grey conector going to the coil? Or did they splice in the wrong one and it should have been the black one?

The gray body connector should be coming from the body harness. The first picture looks like coil power and tach you could always run the key on and test for power on the pink wire. The bottom connector on the 300+ goes to the icm on the small cap. The large cap one is powered internally I don’t think the 300+ will work. You should call Accel tech support to confirm.

Fuel pressure Gremlins are vanquished.
i am getting some spark but it only seems to fire intermittent.

Found this guy trapped between distributor and firewall.

Anyone know what he does?
