Just difficult to read the first post. The words blend together without punctuation or words spelled out. But yes easier to write on a mobile phone.

I too was hoping for a reply to see if the 400 degree exhaust temperature indicated anything.

You can't get upset that you don't get replies when you're not asking a coherent question.

Try again.

It's hard to even find a question in that garbled mess...

Re: Computer Q jet lean?

you took the carb apart and put it back together without taking the time or care to reset the rich and lean stops. we have to also question the integrity of the rest of the job. you also probably made no attempt to adjust the idle air bleed for proper dwell or set the TPS.

the next step would be me spending a lot of time explaining how to properly set the carb up and make all of the checks of the system and adjustments needed to get it running like new. this would likely take several posts back and forth.

then you'd come back finally and tell us that your problem was something else entirely and after you cut the wires to (fill in the blank) or replaced (fill in the blank) with something totally unsuited as a replacement for (fill in the blank); that the car was now running great (and you really don't notice the smell of the exhaust and are super happy to finally get slightly above 10 miles per gallon).

i'm not sure i have the energy for all that anymore so maybe you should just continue with the random fastener removal and re-install until the bulk of the vehicle returns to its natural state.

but if you really want help let me know.
