Just picked up an ‘89 GTA
Picked up an ‘89 GTA L98 today, but the RPO codes are missing. I know there were not many ‘89 cars listed in Compnine, but anyone willing to give it a shot? I’ll provide the VIN of course.

Nice 1989 GTA. From the one picture you have uploaded it seems to be a solid car except for the paint. You can have 12 pictures per reply. Edit this one and add 11 more.

Comprehensive VIN Decoder
You can enter your VIN at the link above. If CompNine has any information on the car the page will indicate your VIN is in their system. If not then it says it isn't in their system.
Being a 1989 Firebird it's probably not going to be in there.
But don't sweat it. You have a Trans Am GTA which is GM's halo 3rd gen F-body. There is no Chevy Camaro equivalent to the Trans Am GTA. From 1988 and up they all come loaded to the gills as standard equipment with very few options available to order.
Check out the GTA Source Page at the link below.
THE Home For The Trans Am GTA Owner And Enthusiast!
Pretty much the GTA options for 1989 are T-tops, leather interior, CD player, and Turbo TA with there being two credit option downgrades. The LB9 5.0L TPI engine -$300.00 and the 5-speed manual transmission -$490.00.
Also the car may or may not have the N10 dual catalytic convertor exhaust system. Depends on when it was built in the model year.
All the 1989 GTA options are just look and see if it has it.

Re: Just picked up an ‘89 GTA
Thanks for the link, unfortunately it’s not in there. I will upload more pictures later, just took a quick snapshot after getting it loaded up on the trailer. It’s an L98 auto with cloth seats. If it had N10, it’s no longer there, manifolds were swapped for headers. It’s a very solid car, has a dent (hopefully PDR can remove) in the passenger fender, the spoiler is not even rotted. Runs, drives, AC works, just needs a good cleaning and maintenance items.

Looks solid, would like to see more pics. Your emblems are in the wrong spots, so hopefully the missing RPO sheet was not done by a scumbag seller. Go through the GTA Source Page and check for the other GTA specific items, usually a cloner will miss one or two (like the headlight bezel).

Re: Just picked up an ‘89 GTA
I just noticed something weird about your 1989 GTA. It has a 1990 to 1992 airbag steering wheel swapped in place of the 1989 GTA steering wheel with radio controls. Many have swapped steering wheels in 3rd gens but done it the other way around. They swap the 1989 and older steering wheel in place of the ugly messed up airbag steering wheels.

Yes, the previous owner also had a wrecked 90 GTA that I bought as well. He swapped the steering wheels for some reason.

What are your plans for the wrecked ‘90?
