what bolts to use with Catco 3" cat?

I got a used cat but it has no bolts. Does it matter what kind? Do I need washers?

so I can take it off myself. It slips on on one side and bolts to the 3" pipe on the other.

Just go to OSH, and get some Grade 8 bolts. They are gold alodine color. And get flat washers and lockwashers too. Grade 8 holds up to the heat better. Not very expensive. If you don't mind paying a few pennies more, you can get stainless bolts there too.
