anyone had recent experiance with www.showcars-bodyparts.com

i am in the market for the imsa dual power bulge hood and they make it still. they want $595 plus shipping. for the damn thing. i did search and came up with mixed comments on service and quality.
has anyone done business in the recent past. if so how was the service/ quality.

i am going to call motion to see if they still make the hood. i hope it is a little cheaper if they do.

thanks
anthony

yeah, I bought some stuff from them a few years ago off eBay.

Shipping was slower then desired, but then again they come from Canada. Also, packaging wasn't nice. My parts weren't damaged, but the packaging could have been more sturdy & protective.

I bought the vision styling kit off them direct over the phone it was around 750.00 plus i got wide body rear fenders which were another 200.00. Anyway origanally he told me a month to complete it was the better part of a year till it finally got finished. After many many phone calls once every week sometimes i did finally get it. It looks good but does need finishing work I really do like the kit but the service was very poor alot of times you couldnt even get them on the phone. And every time I called it was somthing diffrent I have sombody quit ect and it was always 1 more week anyway they are the only ones who make it so if you like it expect a long turnaround hope this helps

i bought a motion glass twin turbo hood. i could not bring myself to pay that much for a hood from a company that has a bad rep for service. its to bad, they have some really cool stuff in their catolog.

good decision. I bought a factory knockoff fiberglass GTA wing off them a couple years ago on ebay. I took ages to get to me, and the quality was horrible. My body guy had to remold the entire outside of the wing, and even then he didn't know if it would work out. To top it off, it's not level against the glass...

I'll be buying another one whenever I get around to doing more body work.

I bought a complete set of Vision ground effects from them a couple years ago. Horrible communication (french canadians) and it took about 4 months to get it. I've had a couple body guys look them over, and they seem to think they are OK. As of yet I still haven't installed the kit, but I will someday.

That's the hood from showcars? How much work did you have to do get it to fit and look proper?

no, its form motion glass like was posted in my earlier post. it had a little shipping damage but it surprisingly fits well with the body lines. i decided that 600 bucks was not worth the hood, especially from a vendor with a sketchy reputation for quality.

i am going to cut the front ducts out and put some black mesh screen over the holes.
i am going to paint the slots black instead of cutting them out due the the polished aluminum and all the ignition stuff being under them, which would not be good if it rains hard and the car is outside.

don't know if i am going to make it up their to deny's this year or not. it will be close.
