Headers rubbing suspension and chassis

Re: Headers rubbing suspension and chassis
Make sure your engine mounts are all good, if they are good, you may actually wind up having to either dent the headers slightly, or grind away a small amount of the frame/ suspension where it's making contact. If one or a combination of these do not gain you the clearance you need, you may have to buy a better fitting set of headers; I' running a set of Doug's Long Tubes in my 1996 IROC and they do not hit the frame or suspension anywhere.

Lots of reading, but well worth it. Tell us what headers you have, certainly others on here will have or had the same and can give you tips specific to the brand you're using.
I have Doug's LT as well, they fit great. I had very little clearancing to do, but they were not drop in, even with new stock mounts. No LT header is for third gens. For me, I had to move the brake lines away, grind a weld down on the back right side of the k-member and dimple a few spots in the header tubes before I had them ceramic coated.

My headers doesn't say any brand on them
I'm not cutting anything, I think I will take the car to a shop and they will heat the headers to bend them a little bit to get to the right place so they don't rub.

ding them- it's just what you have to do with lower end headers for American cars and David Freiberger proved that you won't kill off any power...
mark where they need clearance, pull them out, and use a chunk of round tubing to spread the blow from the hammer and make it look nicer. those headers look coated, so wrap a rag around the tubing before hitting it. you might still damage the coating, but it's probably already damaged from rubbing, anyways.
i think i had to ding one tube one each side of my Hedmans- one on the front, one on the rear- but they've been in the car since 2012 and it hasn't caused any issues.

Will also try to document the process.
