3rd Gen drums on 4th Gen rear?

I’m wondering if the completely new rear drum brake assemblies and e-brake cables on my 1985 T/A will bolt up to a 4th Gen rear end Im thinking of buying. It’s got 3.42 gears without any disc brake parts. Thanks for any info/help

This is just a SWAG, but I'd say no. Drum brakes require the tall bracket off the top of the axle to mount the wheel cylinder. IIRC, disc brake rears won't have that bracket.

Do a quick look at drum to disc conversions here. And if I'm right it will be obvious about the bracket.

RBob.

RBob I kinda think you're right about that.

Now if the 4th gen had been a drum setup, that would be a much greater possibility.
