Dakota Digital SGI-100BT
I'm installing a TKX into my 1990, 5.7 TPI, 700r4
Hooking up the Dakota box, is it trans speedometer wires in to the box and out of the box into the cars original speedometer wires?
Thanks

Re: Dakota Digital SGI-100BT
This is what I wound up with:
IGNITION+ to +12v switched
GROUND- to ground
SPD+ not used
INPUT to yellow from TKX VSS
SPD- to purple from TKX VSS and purple to ECM B9
OUT1 not used
OUT2 not used
OUT3 to yellow ECM B10
OUT4 not used
OUT5 not used
SPd out to H-L and then set the "cal" to 1.55 (I have 3.23 gears). This got me within ~10%.

Re: Dakota Digital SGI-100BT
Thoughts on tapping into the switched power that is used for the radio for the Dakota box ?

Re: Dakota Digital SGI-100BT
My only thought here would be to ask, does the Dakota unit need to be powered while the starter is cranking the engine?
The radio switched power is not present while the ignition is in the start position.

Since there’s a lot of the connections at the ecm. Should be able to splice into A6 pink/blk wire.

Re: Dakota Digital SGI-100BT
Dakota says in there instructions " 12v accessory power"
The car starts and idles normally now with the speed sensor cable unplugged.

I ran a separate wire (with fuse) from the fuse block, just to be sure.

Spoke with a Dakota tech and he said tapping into the radio power was good

Question about this, about to go with your same setup. However, I have a 89 Trans Am, with a T56, I had the 650ECM and have since converted to the 730 ECM.
I have ignition, ground set up same as you right into the yellow buffer.
I can run the yellow > input and OUT3 back into yellow. Assuming that’s how you did it?
where I’m lost is the purple. I believe I just need to leave it alone since I’m already tapping into the signal wire going into the buffer.
I’m still searching around but this post sounds like it’s closest to what I am working with. Just hesitant to cut into more. Thank you
