LS Swap fusible links

I have a LS1 in my 1989 Firebird with a PS1 stand alone harness and a vintage air A/C system.

I cleaned up my C100 with very little left, my question after removing all the unneeded wires including the old A/C and blower would the fusible links need to be changed to a different size? If they stay the same could someone please let me know what size that I would ask for when i purchase new ones.

Thanks Rich

Re: LS Swap fusible links

The FLs protect the wires, specifically the Big Red ones, not the loads. So if the Big Red Wires are still the same size as before, then the FLs should be the same size.

Do you know for 1989 were they 16 gauge and were they only used on the two red wires? Also with replacing them would it make sense to go with a fuse block or circuit breaker in stead

Thank you for your help !!!
