Need referrals for a reliable transmission rebuilder in the Houston area. Looking to add minor performance parts in a 700r4.

 

I think They're on Hempstead Hwy or 290,.......Look em' up in the phone book.......Hughes Transmission. one of the best in town. Or in Sugarland, Langford Transmission.

 

Hughes DOES have a good reputatiion--don't know about pricing!

Try looking through the phone book. There a lot listed under automatic transmissions--a alot with ads that talk about performance work.

 

My buddy has a working 700r4 for sale with TQ convertor for 400 bucks! Let me know if you want it.

Just curious. What did his 700r come out of? What are his driving habits. Just wondering because I am trying to decide on buying your bud's tranny or having mine rebuilt. I don't want to buy one that would have to be rebuilt in after a few months use.

 

Hughes is at 9710 Clay, 713-895-9532, talk to Earl. I've used them a couple of times.

Circle D Transmissions at Fairbanks N. Houston @ Hempstead, talk to Glen. 713-895-7019. I know of some buddies that have used them.

Of course there's Century, (old PMAC in Richmond) 281-633-8155, Mike Kurtz. Also good article on their rebuild of 4L60E's in one of the latest GM High Tech magazines.

 

Get your tranny fixed yet? Where did U end up going?

 

My buddy still has that 700r4 w/ convertor for sale. $400 if you come pick it up!

If you have not got your tranny done yet, that sounds like a heck of a deal that Mike (1bad91z) has for U!!!

I bet, that for a nominal fee, Mike (1BAD91Z) would R+R the tranny for you, if you are not into doing that yourself!

 

Luckily my brother in law is currently working for AAMCO. All I have to buy is parts. He and I will re-install hopefully this week-end. Thanks for the offer!
