If you read this forum - you need to read this.

As of late, there has been talk of changing the name of the SWMG forum to something that better represents the people that actually use the forum. Not that SWMG matters are not discussed here - but the people of Texas and surrounding states have no other place to call their own....as some have deemed us not part of "Southwest"

So here's the deal. If we can agree on a good name for the forum, the nice admins of this site might change it for us. Why is this such a big deal anyway? Because we want more members in here in this forum giving their opinions and planning gatherings in the area. With a better name, I believe we can do that.

My suggestion for the name is:

South Central States

Agree? Have a better name? Please comment.

I think we should get the name changed. I do not have any in mind, but I think it should be dedicated to Texas.

If we can come up with something, I do have a little pull with the admins to help get it changed.

I'm in Oklahoma and I agree, it would be nice to see the South Central States name be used.

C'mon guys! I know that there are some of you who can come up with some different names for this board.

I will sticky this thread for a week to see if we get any more posts.

I vote for just having a Texas forum.

Everyone else can just use the SWMG forum.

With Texas by itself, that would give alot more room for the other guys in SWMG board.

TEXAS board!!!!

Just my $.02

89ROC and I had already brought it up to the admins back in September, but it seemed to be too much of a hassle. The idea just got dropped.

Admin has already stated that he will not give Texas its own board, so it would have to be the South Central States or something like that.

in the absence of a texas board, i also vote for South Central States

athough just to be even more accurate (and somewhat ****) we could call it:

SouthWest Central States

SouthWest East Side States (funnier if you call it east-siiiiiyde)

or somthing else to point out that yes, we are in the southwest, but some people are too stupid to realize that.

but south Central is fine

Screw it, if we cant have a Texas board, let's just keep things the way they are.

"South Central" reminds me of a ghetto part of town in California (West-siyyyyyeed).

It may be find to you 1bad - but to those that only scan the main headings on the forums main page, they will never make it into the SWMG forum for Texas/Houston/Lousiana related things. The goal of this is not just to rename the board to something more fitting - but to attract fellow thirdgenners are improve our turnouts at meets/greets/shows.

yea... most of them goto southwest.... you know, cause texas is in the southwest....

but they never see anything local..... one of the reasons being, the mod there seems to think that texas isnt in the southwest, so he puts it in the SOUTH WEST minigathering forum.

renaming should clear up that issue.
