TPI lower intake

My friends camaro blew an intake gasket and while at the shop, the guys there said his intake is corroded and that he will need a new one do any of you guys know where he could get another intake for a decent price, quick? Does it matter if the engine is a 305 or 350 b/c were not sure. (its a TPI lower intake as stated in title)

His car is a 85 but the guy said it had a 88 IROC 350 motor but were not sure b/c there is no dipstick hole with the stock manifolds so we think it is an older 350/305 block so the newer manifolds don't have a provision for a dipstick on the drivers side like the older manifolds did and it doesn't have centermount heads.

The intake I have is for the new heads (89 - 92). It will work as long as you drill out the center holes.

Or, you can bring the intake to my shop and I'll see if I can repair it. I've gotten some pretty bad intakes to seal just fine.

What holes do you need to drill out and how much would you want for that intake? and could you drill out the holes?

his intake is corroded?? How the hell did that happen?? I can't even imagine the kind of coolant problems he must have that would corrode aluminum bad enough to warrent replacing the whole manifold.

How much would you want for the intake and do you know if there will need to be any modifications made to it to work with the older heads

I'm sorry, I called my friend and I think that he is already gone. Once I get to the house I can check to make sure this one is okay, but if he already isn't gone, he will by the time I make it to my house.

When are you looking to get one in, maybe I could ship it out in the morning or something.

The intake is the same on a 305 and 350. What makes a difference if the year of the intake / heads. 90-92 and I think 89 all have the same bolt pattern.

85-88 have the same bolt pattern.

The new intake's 4 center bolts (2 on each side, in the center), on a 90-92 are angled different than the 85-88 intake / heads bolt pattern.

All it would take is just drilling out (elongating the 4 center holes) to use the older with the new and vice versa.

Hope that makes sense.

I can probably repair that corroded intake and seal it for you no problem.

Cold start injector only has to do with the fuel rails and runners. Both lower manifolds have provisions for the CSI.

Sorry, I have been working. I am not sure, I will use it if I don't get rid of it, so I haven't thought of a price. I am going to put it on a 69 chevy for a show truck. Let me know if you are still interested.

I have a buddy that has a John Millican converted LT-1 intake for sale. It comes with the intake / fuel rails / fuel rail AN fittings / brand new remote thermostat housing.

Let me know if anyone is interested.
