Lets go racing this weekend!

Ive been out of town for a couple of weeks but Im back now. I Think it would be good to do a little drag racing this weekend before it gets too hot. Cars just love the cooler air you know. My preference in order would be Sealy first, the new 1/8 mile track on I 45 north second, and HRP third (only because its so far for me). I have to go only about 60mph on the freeway now since I have the TH350 with no overdrive. I dont want to overheat stuff. Seem like Im crawling along, HOndas and Subarus are zooming by me. Well its worth it once I get to the strip tho.

Whats everyone up for. Texas LT1, you around? BArry got your slicks yet?, Mike, got your new rear end? Gentlemen start your engines!

Sounds fun

I'd be down to go the the 1/8th (never been to Sealy). I'd get stomped by anything short of a 4 banger, but I'd love to see how everyones cars (and themselves) are doing. Sonar, you up for it? Zap? All aboard!

I just went out a bought an air tank so I can experiment with lowering air pressure in my drag radials, then fill up again for the freeway ride home. Zap, have you run that car down the stip yet since you hung all that expensive iron underneath it? Im game for just about any strip, like I said, SEaly is close for me, but I know a lot of guys like the 1/4 strip. I guess I could leave like 2 hours early and go 50mph all the way there, haha. I would like to get an official 1/4mi time. THis superram is supposed to really start pulling at the higher mph.

Well I took a chance and went out to Sealy on Friday even though it was very cloudy. Got one run in. Not too good, 8.7 somehting, but the engine was hot. 60' time was OK 1.9 something. I was going to try and lower my air pressure in the drag radials starting at 22lbs then 20, 18,16 etc. ONly go tthe 22 psi run in. The air tank worked good for filling them back up. Watched a couple of fuel altereds run, like 4.5 something in 1/8!. It started to mist on the last run and one guy almost flew off the track at about 140mph, after that they called it. Maybe next weekend

Oh, by the way, the one run was against a Ford LIghtning truck. Beat him by about 2 car lenghts,
