Sam's show this past Sat........

About 75 cars showed......EVEN MIKE!!!!!!!!
The 2 baddest cars at the show..
1) a 1960 stock-looking Ford Starliner....appearance was about 9 on a 1-to-10. But this car had a 426 Cobra-jet motor in it! OMG... it sounded absolutely AWESOME when it arrived. I'm not a Ford kinda guy, but this was one of the best-sounding cars I've ever heard!
2) 2003 or 4 Z-06 Vette with a license plate that read,"0-60 N 3"
Chrome twin-screw blower sticking out of the hood. Valve covers confirmed."Lingenfelter Performance"

That Ford sounded sooooooooooooooo bad that if the Ford raced that Vette, my money (but not my heart) would be on the Ford.

Well the Lingenfelter Magna Charger runs 5 lbs of boost putting 490 hp @ 6200 rpms an 480 ft lbs of torque @ 5200 and lays down a 11.56 1/4 mile @ 127
I really doubt that starline could pull that off... but anything is possible.
I know for sure it couldnt handle or brake even close to the Vette. but it is big block vs small but the charger kinda evens the field dont you think?

I was really suprised to see Mike (1bad91Z) show up!

It was good to see U but wondering what prompeted the trip down south Mike?

Looks like a "rainy" weekend, so I am not sure there will be much of a turnout this week.

Probably good anyway--I need to finish all my small tuning projects so I can go to the strip and not have ANY excuses for what the IROC runs or does not run!!!

Anybody remember what the conversion formula for converting a 1/8 mile time to a 1/4 mile time? How accurate is it in the real world?

I took the car out Saturday to do a little racing and I had never been to the Sam's club show before, so I made an appearance. Some pretty nice cars there!! I liked the Pantera and the '67 Shelby fastback.

By the way, there was a black IROC with a cowl hood (orange stripe on it) had some billet wheels, ghost flames...... He was parked on the outer edge of the show. Who was he? I haven't seen that car before. Is he a TGO member??

Wait a minute--to do a little racing? U actually made a pass at the strip? And it did not blow the rear end? I'm not sure any of the reg posters would believe U. (LOL!) What kind of time did U post?

I don't think he is--Barry knows who it is--friend of a friend-- maybe Barry will post.

Street racing, not at the strip. As long as she doesn't hook, the stock rear may last a little longer.

Raced a cammed / headers / bolt-ons - LS-1 vette. Beat him from a stop - 100 and raced from a roll (75 - ~140-150) 3 different times. I killed him pretty bad, even from a roll.
