Whats the deal on these "Hyperblack"wheels

I really like these wheels on Hawks thridegen, but we wanted to get chrome ones. What is this hyperblack? is it chrome, is it black. Is is a coating ? . Im thinking of just getting the silver ones, but the photo looks kind of washed out.

Who knows how the hyperblack looke in person, how they wear ,etc

I'd love to get a set of the black ones. I was unsure how they look in person though. Any pics?

Polished is good, chrome is better. If i had to do it all over again i would have got chrome.

Now I just have to find out how I can get my hands on some of those SLP center caps.....

I just looked on Slp's website. The "hyperblack" is just paint, like the silver.

SLP dosent offer those centercaps individualy......i'll have to call them tomorrow.

pretty sure hyper black is a coating, think of it as black chrome. best way I know to explain it.

From SLP's Website

Wheels, Painted "Hyper Black" 17x8, ZR1 (set of 4)
An SLP exclusive, these 17 x 8" ZR-1-style wheels were specifically designed to fit 1982-1992 F-Bodies without spacers or other modifications. They're available in classic silver or Hyper Black and come complete with matching SLP center caps. See instructions for backspacing and other information.

Oh.

Well, I know the other wheels I've seen have been a coating...

Maybe SLP just sucks

From those pics, they look like a nice wheel. Not big on them only being offered in 8" widths tho..

Well Im just trying to figure out which would look better on a black 90 firebird. The pics of the hyperblack ones Ive seen always look, well hyperblack, or dark in other words. I don't know if it is the photos or thats how they look. I have not seen any in person. Thats what I would like to do. The 8" width would be fine for this application, its a 3.2 L V6 and you can run like 255 tires on them which is more than sufficient for this car
