*^%@!#& Firebird

Well as extreme and Craig pointed out I did not make the last meet in my 'bird.

Ended up being my atlernator fried, while changing it on Sunday it started raining (not hard) after putting in new alternator I go to fire it up and it just sat there and cranked and cranked.
After farting around I find that the fusible link by the battery had blown. The rain ?
After fixing it I go to start it and....here we go again crank..crank.. no start. Well it was time to quit for the night. Besides I was pissed, where's my FORD

Been out of town all week working Beaumont, Nacogdoches and Tyler got back Friday, went out today and started checking things found another fuse blown in fuse panel. Replaced it and still no start and sure enough here comes the rain again.
Started doing the basic troubleshoot..fuel pressure good, battery took to get fully charged, checked spark oops
NO SPARK !! removed plug wires and then dist cap as I pulled off the cap I saw the rotor had a big black scorched mark on the top.

I pull off the rotor and when I did I noticed that the slot on the dist for the rotors tab was white I look under the rotor and the !@#$%^& tab had broke off of it !

The dist must have been spinning but the rotor wasn't.. damn !
Well another $3.99 rotor and the 'bird fired right up like always
Man it is always the little things that get you

Now if it will only stay alive until next meet...

Well, at least you didn't have a starting problem like mine with a 80 T/A Pacecar I used to own. It had a supposedly rebuilt 400 pontiac motor out of a 69 GTO and was idling in my driveway...and then it just died. I spent the next couple days trying to find out why it wouldn't crank. Got fuel, battery good, fuses good, wiring good, power to the coil...wait...no fire out of the cap! Ok...checked the ignition module...its good. Coil pack was good...ok, what the heck??? then it hit me...bad distributor...maybe...but before pulling the distributor, I was going to turn the motor over so the rotor pointed straight back at the firewall. OK, what the??? The rotor isn't spinning. OOOOOhhhh boy, must have a broke distributor shaft or stripped gear. Great. I pull the distributor...its fine. AAAAAAAAUUURRGGH!!! So I pull off the intake and valley pan...and low and behold...a busted camshaft...four bent pushrods and the block was busted! And I had only owned the car for 4 days. AND IT WAS ONLY IDLING WHEN IT DESTROYED ITSELF!!!! And then the real kicker...the "friend" I bought it from who "misplaced" the title had lied to me, and still owed the original owner 750 bucks on the car, which I had to pay 500 to get the title So, out of fury, I sold it on ebay as a restoration project to a couple in Missouri and took a $2,000 reaming loss. I learned a valuable lesson...show me the title before I'll show you the money.
