After finishing the business I had to take care of over in the SE part of town, we spent about an hour and half, crusing around on 45 from 610 all the way out to 518/Clear Lake area, looking for suitable places for the Oct monthly meet.

There is about a gazillion places to eat in that area (especially out in the Clear Lake area) and almost any of them would be suitable for the monthly. Hooters, bennigans, Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, Cajun Roadhouse, Crawdaddy's, Pizza Places (always hard to beat pizza and beer), and even with all those to choose from, we had already planned where to stop and eat, before we went out to check out the car show at Marina Bay Dr. (2094) and 146.

My conclusion and my personal recommendation for the location for the Oct monthly meet, is a little hole in the wall--been there forever--ice house that is overflowing with personality, where half the chairs have small rips in the seat, and U have to put sugar packets under the table legs to keep them from wobbling, called "South Shore Beer Garden Restaurant" (owned by the same people that own "Joe Lee's")-- It's definately a locals favorite-- always a steady stream of people of all types, that live in or by the marinas.--indoor (A/C)/outdoor seating-- not an overabundance of parking, but more parking in the rear, and more than enough to accomidate the number that normally show up at our monthlys-- bottle beer/2.25--smoking allowed--EXCELLENT FOOD AT CHEAP PRICES (if U are not drinking beer, U will probably get out of there for 7/8 dollars).--jukebox--Tv over in the corner usually with an episode of "Cops" running--1 pool table.

We have been going to this place for years and it is definately on my top 5 list of best burgers/food in the Hou area. Some of U have been exposed to my top 5 burger list/places, and know that it has to be good to make the top 5 list!!!

Also, It is only about a mile from the car show we are gonna go to after the meet.

So, with that being said, since we always put this to a vote, and since Hooter's on 45S, was the only other place suggested, I will put these 2 places up on the poll to vote on. Since we are running behind, in getting all this figured out because of recent events, we will only have a few days to do the vote. We need to deceide this by Tue or Wed, so we can post the results and locations of both the meet location and the car show so everybody will have enough time to get plans made.

C U next Sat afternoon!

not sure that I'll be at the eating place, but I'll definitely try to make it to the show afterwards. My dad and I are going to the airshow on Saturday.

*****--KEMAH - Sat. Nights. Chick Filet, on 2094 near 146. No phone given.

I went to that one last night, and it is definately a 5 star! Abour 80 to 100 cars, I must say, one of the best overall mix of cars of all types I have seen in a long time (including Sam's club show)!

Very friendly people, some bad *** cars, antiques, resto rods, street rods, classics, 60/70's muscle cars, several cars blown+ injected Pro street type cars (with wheelie bars--how they got inspections for street driving I'll never know--well yeah I do, BUT THAT'S ANOTHER SUBJECT!!), show quality cars, modern day muscle cars. Way too many Mustangs --they had their own section--about 15/18 of them. EVERYTHING U COULD THINK OF!

If U are looking for a show to go check out, and U live down in that area, U need to go check these guys out!!!

Since this is the car show we will probably go to after the Oct monthly meet next Saturday, I highly recommend U try and make the monthly meet and cruise to this show afterwards!!!

Any other votes?

If u are planning to attend the Oct. monthly meet and have not voted yet, Please vote. At the moment, we are tied with 4 + 4.

We have never had a tie, so I'm not quite sure what to do if a deceiding vote is not cast?

Any suggestions?

Craig

I know it's a long drive for U (as it is me), but were U gonna cruise out to the show afterwards if U can't make it to the meet on time.

A couple people have suggested we start later and we could not make the change unless everybody agrees on it, but what does everybody think about changing the time of the monthly meets from 4 to 6 PM TO 5 pm to 7 PM?

OK, I voted for Hooters, since I sugested it in the first place.

As far as beaking the tie, let the person who has been to the most monthly meets make the decision. I've been to 3.

Well, Mrs. ZAP and I have been to all but one, but that does not seem fair for me to impose my/our will on others.

Then again, if we have to break a tie.....somebodies got to do it.

Well......now wait a minute.....i just looked at the vote--it's 5 to 5, and if we remove TxLT1's vote, because he admittily is not going to the meet (he going to the Air Show)--that makes the vote 4 for Hooter's and 5 for South Shore Beer Garden!

Well, let's do the fair thing--

VOTING CUTOFF IS NOON WEDNESDAY OCT 5TH!

Cool--hope that was the tie breaker!

Strange how we got 11 votes for the monthly meet when we nornally only get 7 or 8 to show up? Maybe we are going to have a big turnout this month.!

I know the weather is going to be nice--predicted highs in the upper 70's!
(This is Houston? --right?)

SOMEBODY REMEMBER TO BRING A CAMERA THIS MONTH!!! (and take pictures)
