where can get me a 350?
where can get me a 350?
in the DFW area.
where the cheapest place to but either a crate or reliable rebuilt 350 for my 1991Z28 TPI?
Has to be within 50 miles or so for me to pickup. Nothing fancy. Stock will suit me just so I can get her back on the road.

GMPP makes some quality crate engines at affordable prices. They have a goodwrench replacement 260hp 350 that sells for like $1200. If your looking cheaper than that you should try to find a reputable Engine rebuilder in your area. Another Idea(that can be risky at times) is Ebay. I always see engines for sale on ebay from reputable salvage yards. They will even gaurantee the engine for a certain amount of time. If you are going to buy something on ebay DO YOUR RESEARCH. Research the seller and the product and keep all of your documents in case there is a problem. I am just trying to give you some ideas. Good Luck.

I would go with the GM crate engine. It is a known quantity and probably better built that what came in any of our cars. Not to mention it makes more power.
My brother put one of those 260hp/350's in his Jeep and it works great.

There's always the boneyard--probably the cheapest, but unless U can hear the engine run, U never know what U are getting. There's supposed to be a place that specializes in thirdgen stuff in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Maybe one of the locals can jump in here and point U towards that place.
also, check through the "Private Installers Index" stickied at the top of the page. There might be some locals up near U that may be able to help U lay your hands on something!
HEY Vern--got a potential NTTGA member here needs some help!

Thanx Zap Racing.
I'm a member in NTTGA.
under same name. Vern's not far from me.
I'm considering a crate motor, but gotta check prices. I'm still saving but it wont take long.
The boneyards spook me as far as engines. If I cant hear it run, I wont buy it, even with a warranty.
The trouble of installing it then risking having to pull it again isnt worth it.
