Looking for a third gen

I'm looking for a third gen 305, 5 speed, hardtop. Interior condition is unimportant. Paint isn't that important either. I'm looking for a project car to get into cheaply.

Check all the appropiate places, ad I hope U can find what U are looking for. They pop up here on this board every now and then, but also check the thiedgen classifieds, auto trader, ebay, newspaper, etc.

Seems like there were some on this board just recently, may need to go back and look at posts/threads for the past few weeks.

I'm going to build the car to compete in NASA's Camaro Mustang Challenge class. Third gen's must run a 305 and 5 speed tranny.

I've been autocrossing for 10 years in C prepared with my 78 camaro. I've been wanting to get into road racing and HPDE but my camaro is not built to do that, plus I'm not willing to consider the car disposable, which is something you have to do to road race. there's just a much higher chance of screwing up and doing some damage to the car.

just curious... why aren't you looking for a 1le/b4c? or are you planning on doing all those upgrades after getting the 305 5 speed?

my boyfriend is in the middle of building a CMC car and from what I understand.... b4c is definately the way to go... (we have a wrecked one and are transferring everything over to another one)

You need to get a rulebook if you haven't already gotten one. Don't even start to do anything without having read all of the rules first. You can download the rulebook here SCCA Solo II rulebook

If you have any specific questions I'll be happy to answer them for you. CP is a very fun class but can get expensive. You can gut the interior, run slicks on 16x12 wheels, build your motor to make as much power as you want normally aspirated, and alter suspension pick up points.

I'm looking for whatever I can find very cheap. Of course a B4C car would be the way to go, I just didn't want to limit myself to getting that specifc when I could transfer parts from one car to another. Most of the stuff would have to be rebuilt/replaced anyway. Anyone know where a B4C car might be for sale really cheap? Interior and paint condition are umimportant.
