WHEN:
Saturday 4/29/06 Noon

WHERE:
Alexandar Deussen Park -- Thirdgen Meet -- BBQ -- Appearance Judging/Awards
http://www.co.harris.tx.us/Comm_Lee/PDeussen/
+
Houston Motorsports Park
http://www.houstonmotorsportspark.com/ddirect.htm

Who:
Thirdgenners from all corners of the Universe.

Why:
Cause it's Thirdgen party time.

How:
1. Read and follow directions in this thread.
2. Show up!!!

Tentative Schedule:
Noon--meet in Duessen Park
2pm--BBQ --Traditional "Burning of the Dogs"
4pm--Appearance judging and awards presentation
5pm--Cruise to HMP
6pm--Test-n-tune runs
7:30/8pm--start interclub eliminations
9:30/10pm--drag strip performance awards

General info:
We will do the BBQ like we have done before--everybody brings a little something, like hot dogs, buns, chips, soft drinks, ETC. I will start a food thread a couple weeks before the meet.

We will do all the same judging/appearance catagories/awards, as we did last time. Open to Thirdgens only!
Catagories are:
Best Paint
Best Interior
Best/Cleanest Engine
Best Tire/Wheels
Beat Sounding Exhaust at IDLE (no open headers or exhaust)
Best Overall
Long Distance Award

Guess how many thirdgens will show up and 50/50 drawing info:
Read link below
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sout...uess-50-a.html

We will do the same "Houston's Fastest Thirdgen" format as we tried to do at HRP. See seperate stickied thread for "2006 SPRING FLING--RULES OF ENGAGEMENT" If U have any questions about this portion of the SF meet, please post them in that thread.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/show...43#post2803243

"2006 SPRING FLING" T-Shirt will be done, but MUST ORDERED IN ADVANCE. I cannot afford to bankroll the shirts like I ended up doing last time, so they need to be paid for in advance also.

It will be good to C U again!

See if U can drag down some of the other Dallas/Ft. Worth people.I know we are working with a little shorter notice this year, but that's just how things worked out. 5 weeks should be plenty of time for everybody to get it together?

Suggestions?
Comments?
Gripes?
Complaints?
Questions?
Discussion?

Am I forgetting anything?

What can we do to get a big turnout this time? I realize the last couple BIG annual events we had, were plagued with weather issues, but I would really like to get 25/30 cars out there like we used to. Sure would like to hear from everybody on this one, on what we can do to make it better--bigger turnout!!!

A topless guest speaker would work

Here's an idea that won't cost anything. Everyone should print out a list of absolutely everything that THEY have dont to their cars, and display it. Also make a list of everything you want to do to your car. If you see a match between what you want to do, snd someone who has already done it, they are there, you can ask, and they can SHOW how they did it. Pretty lame, huh?

I don’t know if I am going to be able to make this one guys. I was hoping to get my new trans swapped in by the end of this month but I have been swamped at work so I haven’t had any time to get going on the swap. I am going to try and get started soon, but I doubt I will have it ready in time. I may show up in my truck just to hang with everyone though.

In the past few months there has been a number of new thirdenners, in the Houston area that have come on the board and introduce themselves. I hope U will take advantage of the upcoming annual BIG meet--the 2006 Spring Fling--and come out and join us--car running or not.

It is and excellent chance to see othe examples of thirdgens--meet other thirdgenners in your area--get ideas for your car-and just generally have a good time at the meet/BBQ/Cruise/Houston's Fastest Thirdgen II.

This also goes for all the thirdgenners who we don't seem to hear from very much any more.

If U have been waiting for "The Big One" this is it!

And "tentative" because I'm going to HRP the weekend before and there is a good possibility I may break something important.

I'll have the Nittos on at the track, but I'll be glad to play! Have U ever had the 240Z on the 1/8th? What's its turning?

See if U can get Sonar to show up--even if it's just at the track--i know he normally works Sat (or used to), but he's got no excuse for not showing up at the strip! UNLESS HE'S SKIRRRRRED!!!

He SAYS he won't miss this one for the world...but he went to a job interiew with some new company today...not sure how that'll work out (new schedule etc.)
The 240 has never been on the track, but it WAS feasting on Lt1 cars back before I blew the motor...since then it has earned a 50 hp bump in power(new turbo). It dyno'd 240 whp on a Mustang Dyno just Yesterday, but it doesn't weight much

It's all in fun. ALways rememebr, the 4 banger guys need forced induction to even keep up (unless its a Honda hatchback, in which case it could do 12's with just 210 whp)

i'll try make this one

I will try and make this one, hell maybe I will even have the new wheels and paint job by then. ahh very doubtful, but you never know.

I really need to get a new car soon so that I can put the roc away after paint or else I would only be wasting my money.

By the way some dumb bitch decieded she wanted to back into me since the last time you guys saw my car, just a small blemish on the back drivers side spoiler. Will get all that taken care of with new paint.

Damn!! Don't think I can make it.

Hi Guy's

What with the move and all have only just got back online. On the 29th I'm down in Galveston as a Chaparone for a High School Senior Prom.

I might try and swing by and just say Hi at the Burning of the Dogs.

We have finally unpacked in our new house, just getting the garage in order now. Going to bring Rudy's old 87 Z28 over shortly and start parting that out and then start doing the body on the vert.

Will try and meet up with everyone.

Alex and Jean.

PS. New location is Deer Park.

Eric,

A guy on the convertible forum said this is where he got his iroc rims.
Iroc OEM style / replica wheels / rims 17x8" Chrome

There is a company that sells them on ebay also. They have lots of wheels for sale so it is hard to miss them.
