Hey Coz - You're Rich
Hey Coz, figured I 'd start a little thread for you and your running rich problem.
Please post up your engine specs and history, plus the flu bug symptons.
IIRC, Carb'd 305 with a recent rebuild?
Are you sure the choke isn't sticking? That would make it rich, and keep times and performance off.

Is the distributor a computer controlled type or the "old" stand alone type that does not require computer control?

Hey COZ
Well, if it's a computer controlled dist, then assuming the computer is still in the car controlling the dist, without all the input from the other sensors that were uh..err..umm...deleted, there ain't no way in hell that car will ever run right. The brain is not getting the info it needs to know when or how much to advance the timing.
U either have to put all the computer sensors back on and working correctly or take out that dist and put in a NON computer dist, where we can set the advance like the good ole days.
AND THERE'S NO WAY AROUND IT--IT EITHER HAS TO BE ONE OR THE OTHER!
I'd be real interested to put a timing light on it to see what timing at idle is, and what timing is at 1500/2000/3000/3500/ETC

The 10.7's U were running at HMP is equal to about 16.70's in the quarter mile--based on other cars with similar setup- I would think we should be able to get your car at least in the 15's, with some tuning.
I'd still like to put a good timing light on it to see where the timing is from 1000 to 4000 at 500 rpm intervals.
When RudyT had his, if I remember right, he had similar mods and he broke his into the 14.9's out at HRP at the Fall Brawl.
