Progress update on TH350 swap.........
Well, after one LONG DAY, TH350 is in the car, cooler installed. Left to do: finish cooling line, 2 bolts in bell housing, tighten cross-member, torque-arm bracket (one bolt), and install shifter. Found out that my clutch has been slipping constantly. 5000 miles and the clutch disc was GONE(on the flywheel side). Flywheel hammered, pressure plate marginal. Clutch simply wasn't holding. Too much torque. My fault. Didn't buy enough clutch. Will be done today (Sunday).

The conversion kit came with a B&M cooler!(much to everyone's surprise).
And yes, it does go vrooom, vroom. Drove it home yesterday. We all know nothig ever goes as planned.(Murphy's law is alive and well). The stock T-5 bracket is not the same as a 350 bracket.Larry Dunlap was a life-saver. Came through with a B&M conversion bracket to avoid delaying the install by several days. Thanks, Larry. I gotta get taller street tires, though....................General observations so far........
MUCH FASTERNo more slipping clutch. Motor has WAY MORE POWERthan I thought.

Congratultions!!!
And I mean that, from the bottom of my fart!
Did the 700 shifter I gave U work, or did U have to get a real 350 shifter?
What stall TC did U end up with?
Have U made any WFO runs, all the way thru the gears?
Why do U need taller tires? U got 3.73's that should be just right for your combination--should put U thru the lights right at a little over 5000.
So, are U 100% finished or still have little things to finish up?

Shifter works, 3000 stall, no WOT runs. Taller STREET tires. 4200 RM on freeway (no idea how fast I was going. new speedo not in yet. I was passing everybody.)
Thing to finish up.....removing all the clutch crap, modifying the shifter plate to allow me to put it into park, hot-wiring the neutral safety switch (so I don't have to push in the clutch to start it)Little odds and ends (back-up lights, etc.)

I did punch it, but the rear end just went up in smoke. On the freeway, it was awesome. I'll be ready in 4 weeks.....maybe 3. Right now, I have absolutely NO desire to even look at a wrench, let alone twist one. The starter was set up foe 15x tooth flywheel. installed 168(?) tooth flexplate, so starter had to be moved. Now, it needs to be shimmed. So, I got THAT goin' for me............ LCA brackets going on, too. Also, gotta change the thermostat. Lower temp. 160. Are we having fun yet???

I don't know. You're making a lot of torque, and it's hooked!!!!!
