I live at 1604 and Marbach right outside the loop. I just took my car out for the first time last night since I bought it 9 months ago. It's been a work in progress. Just need to get the rest of the true dual exhaust done and it will be somewhat legal.

Lots of old posts here. What happened to the SAFBA group? My sons' and I joined and there was some rift between members and it sort of died. Has this been reorganized? If so, where is the weekly meet?

We had been meeting up at Bigs on 151 and Potranco on Saturday evenings but it looks like we need to find a new venue. The owner sold the place to a grill and that meet is over with.
If you know of any good places to meet up join the our boards and post up.

There is a large gathering of cars every Friday at Biff Buzbys' burgers at IH 35N at Toepperwien Rd behind Whataburger. Lots of corvettes and assorted cars show up. Used to see some 3rdgens there, but not much lately.
Used to be a gathering at the Best Buy near 281 and 410. Lots of different cars there too. Haven't checked in a while.
I have a Notchback 86 Trans Am and my sons' have a 91 Firebird and an 88 Notchback GTA.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
Sounds like you got a nice collection! Anyone want to help me bleed my clutch a little more. Still seems as if there is air in the system and it's still a little difficult to get into gear unless it's at the right RPM. Possibly this weekend? Hopefully I don't get called into work again this Saturday.

I already know the exact setup I want. 3" back to a h pipe and back to my moroso spiral flow mufflers that dump before the axle. Should sounds pretty good.

Im near S.A. also. About 20 minutes south. But I'm really interested in the 3" true dual setup you guys have. I tried running mine but failed miserably so now I just have it dumping before the axle. I wanted to run it all the way back, anyone here done that?

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
So if anyone is available to help me bleed my clutch please PM me and I can get ya my phone number. Like I said it shouldn't take any longer than 30 minutes. We can also BS and check out each others cars too. Hopefully the weather stays like it has been and maybe we can all go out and get some food. Preferably somewhere close to the 1604 Marbach/Potranco area since I am still running open LT's.

A friend of mine runs true duals on his 91 z, he has shorties and the pipes run next to eachother and follow the stock path together all the way to the end, over the rear end and exit ater the rear end.

Hmmm...what size pipe is he running? I have 3 inch right now and its too big to route anywhere reasonable lol. I looked into running mine like that but I wasn't sure I could get them over the axle together.
Re: san antonio thirdgeners
im actualy running 2.5 pipe, with bullets but i have it dumped right at the axle. i dont like pipes all the way back anyway. but your more thank welcome to take a look. we will see how the weather is this weekend

Thats basically how mine is but i don't have dumps. It ends with the glasspacks right under the rear foot pans. Its really fricking loud though. Are you using mufflers or what? Because I need to find something not so loud-it was driving me crazy.

San Antonio Thirdgens:
How about a short meet on Friday 19 Mar 2010? Say 8 pm?
"Stiky Steves Wing House" at 4121 Naco Perrin off of Perrin Beitel?
I talked to the owner and he said he would stay open past 10 pm if necessary. Nice guy, just opened the shop last month.
Plenty of parking available. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
I will try and post a copy of the menu.

Hope the meet goes well...Naco Perrin is close for me. Biff Buzby's is even closer. I'm still a month or so away from getting my '86 TA back on the road after a motor swap. Cruisin weather is here!

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
Just got back from Biff Buzby's tonight. Alot of people showing thier cars. The nice evening brought out a lot of people. Biff's started out as a Corvette show place as I was told, but then all were welcome. It got pretty crowded tonight and most people were double parking in the lot as it is only about 2 football fields of a parking lot.
The Corvettes were holding the far part of the lot, the 'cudas and rat rods held some of the high ground with the first and second gen camaros standing the outer rings. A viper thrown in for the exotics and the Mustang contingent showed up in review about 8:30. Spoke to 3 thridgens about next Friday 19, for Naco Perrin. Said they would show. The Naco Perrin location has 2 different eateries availible on the North side and about 4 within walking distance if you choose. On the Southside of the street there is a parking lot that will hold about 300 cars, if we can make it that large of a future showing with all types of cars.
Again, lets try for a good number of cars on this Friday 19 March at Stiky Steves Wing House at 4121 Naco Perrin. You can Mapquest or Google maps the location.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
Thats one sick sounding Formula dude.
I still think you should stick with a 650 CFM carb though, maybe a double pumper, but only if you want good throttle response and better MPG. GM sells the 350HO deluxe setup with a 600CFM carb on it and it makes 330HP

Thanks to the few that showed on the 19th. Vortec-Formy and his Camaro sidekick. The weather was looking pretty intimidating but didn't rain. The food was great. I had the wings and the burgers looked fantastic. Spurs played on 4 flat screens.
Got to discuss some great ideas for thirdgens and find out if some subject matter experts (SME) lurk in those that showed.
We can gather again, plenty of space. I'll try and make a headlining post for the next meet.
