Because of a drag strip scheduling mistake, the LMP web site shows the LMP drag strip closed on Sat. Nov. 18th-- this has been changed--Please see below!

LATEST UPDATE:
LONESTAR MOTORSPORTS PARK IS OPENING UP JUST FOR US. THE 2006 FALL BRAWL IS ON AS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED!!!

After receiving a phone call from his secretary this morning saying they would not be open, John Hennesy himself called me, and we again went over the details of the event. He said he will open the track at noon and stay open until dark-thirty. It will be an open track/Test-N-Tune day with the track open to anybody, but will feature the Thirdgen.org show that day, including a dial your own time" complete elimination bracket race if we choose to do that instead of our own time bracket ekimination tournament as originally scheduled!

I myself would very much like to run a complete "dial your own time" double elimination race--not many tracks I know of would go to the trouble to accomidate us like LMP is willing to do.

John Hennessy has shown the type of upstanding person in rectifying this situation, and the type of quality person he is and how he intends to extend that trait to how he runs LMP. He should be commended for his efforts, and I highly recommend we support him and the efforts of LMP in the future!

Now here's the deal, I have spent a lot of time and agrivation, as well as John going out of his way to accomidate us, so we need to come thru and have a good/BIG turn-out for this event. In between all of U that said they would come in the head count thread, and even those of U from out of town that said U were coming--PLEASE. PLEASE, PLEASE SHOW UP!

Even if U are not going to make any passes on the drag strip--show up for the meet!!

Sat. Nov 18th at Lonestar Motorsports Park! NOON!!!

Craig, we don't say it enough, but you are the best, and we all appreciate what you've done to keep this Houston group and the entire South Central area going.

Well, spread the word at Dyno day--even 4th gens are invited (even Mustangs and tuner cars), just can't compete in the appearance awards and the "Houston's Fastest Street Driven Thirdgen" event, but the more cars, the better!

See if U can get the blue Chevelle that is at ARD to come out--sure would like to see him make a pass!

Sadly, I am out. I wasn't able to get my car street legal in time. Basically it will technically be legal, but there are some issues with my front wheels rubbing the frame that I have to deal with, plus it hasn't seen any street time, so I don't feel comfortable driving it that far yet.

Sorry :-(

We will bring some cars for you all to see.

Hey ZAp good job on setting everthing up. We are bringing some new cars to the fallbrawl. We will be bringing 3 third gens, 3 fourth gens, 2 mustangs, a 67 chevelle, a 67 corvette, a 66 chevy 2 nova, and 1 c5 vette 1 Hummer H2, 1 chevy full size pick up. The Hummer and the Chevy pick up are having thier own little race. Might put some dope on the Hummer. It sounds like it going to be a blast. Can't wait for Sat.

Bad new- other day i was driving out to clear lake in her for a TCCOA meet and i was passing a group of ppl you know getting on it and flying by when i come to the next red light she starts idling really rough and hard almost like she's gonna die. So i checked my oil black as night so i know it not the head gaskets, my coolant is good also.

I'd love to come out for the Fall Brawl whip up on Plndtx,
But I think i have a Gun SHow to work that weekend.

i will definitely be there! in the fourth gen. i will have pics of the progress being done on the third gen though. looking forward to seeing the guys from ARD, that's for sure. they're right around the corner from my store. i've delt with a few of them that have come to the front counter for parts. not sure on the names, but i'm sure they'll recognize me!

i've been pretty silent on this board for a month or so now, but ZAP, i, among everyone else on this board, really do appreciate everything you have to go through to get these meets set up. you're definitely appreciated!

look forward to seeing everyone! and not only did i get off work that weekend, but i'm getting paid to be at the meet! vacation hours!

I just checked out Lonestars website and on the date for the fall brawl it names our thirdgen club so we need to tell anyone and everyone we know with any cars that like to race to show up. I am trying to get some guys from work to go, even though they drive imports. 6 more days
And Craig-ZAP thank you so much for everything you have done to help set this event up, we couldn't have done it without your hard work

Fawl Brawl

Hey Zap,

We are not going to be able to bring the 2 Mustangs, or one of the fourth gens, and the 66 chevy 2, but we will have the rest of them there. We just ran out of time, getting seven cars ready for the track is a big task.
See Ya Saturday.

aldixie,

Will you be traveling the beltway and 288? I'm in Pearland just off of 288. What time are you leaving?

What time will we be running at the track.

The weather is looking fantastic for this event. If pressure stays high and humidity low, I expect some people will be setting some personal bests if the track is good and your car is running right. Not sure about wind, anyone know what direction the track runs? I believe that HRP & HMP both run to the north.

Hi,
Yes I'll be going round the beltway, with the roof down in this great weather. I'm leaving Deer Park between 10:30 and 11:00.

Good--we need as big a car count as possible. With LMP opening up basically just for us, they have to have X number of cars/people show up just so they do not lose money for opening and paying drag strip employees. I am even making Mrs. Zap take her 87 RS car also just for car count!

Invite anybody regardless of type of car--we need butts in the seats!
