Found a yard full of camaros and trans am's. I was looking for parts for my 1950 chevy at the time. Got all the expensive trim for my 50 for $40 then took a good look around the yard. Bought a set of perfect fog lamps for $60.

The yard is Terrel's on 90 just outside of Liberty, you want the classic car/scrap metal yard next door to it. Its all owned by the same owner.

The only problem is the classic car part is open weekdays only.

I was surprised how many cars they had in there. Was even an Iroc with the complete TPI motor, 91/92 Aero's. You name it, it was there.

Would you like to snag the whole TPI system for me? If so, How much?

 

That's nuts. I lived in Dayton growing up (right down the street from Terrel's) and they never had anything of use. I finally grow up and leave the area and they decide to stock parts I'd actually use....you see any 4thgens?

 

There was some late model TA's there. Didn't look in the main yard. I went there just to have a look around as passed it a couple of times last year.

Unfortunately won't be going back there for a while as start a new job monday and will not have any time off for a few months.

 

So...how many maros? I have friends that need parts.

 

I plan on heading there this Saturday (so I won't be able to go inside the separate area, just the main yard). I'll take a count.

I have a whole TPI 350 out of my 89 iroc L98 i am in houston, is apart but complete and running. going with a stroker motor. $400 or best offer.

Mother of god...it is a third gen gold mine...and phone number, i REALLY need some nice TA fenders and nose, the black one looks perfect!

 

Let me know when you go and I will tag along. It looks like a 2nd gen in front of the camaro in the 2nd pic, & I know my dad still needs a few parts for his TA.

 

No problem man, i dont know when ill have the money but i will deffinatly let you know.

 

The headers i have are Flowtech mid or shorties.

 

There are a few 2nd Gen TA's there complete with the hoods, Smokey and the Bandit style. It is a gold mine there.

Also don't forget there is a big swapmeet at the Dragstrip in Baytown this sunday.

Hi i'm from illinois and i was wondering if there were any 91 style fbirds with the gfx package. If so could you get me the gfx piece in front of the tire on the driver's side and ship it to me. Of course i would pay for youre time. Thanks

 

Are you saying 400 for all that or just a short/long block of some sort? Cause if so... ummm sold... I'm broke but will go sell my left one to a loan shark right now.

Well one problem with that.... I need those pieces for both sides of my '91 & live within range of that yard... If there's actually any there.



So who wants to carpool out there soon? I can't afford much but am willing to help someone else pull parts just to go check it out & drool on anything cool...

 

Since you are helping me with the bodywork on my car I could buy you car parts as payment.

 

Well, ill let you know ASAP when we can set up a GTG to ride out, ill have the tool box loaded down with all the needed parts and the GMC gassed up

Did you need something particular concerning that 5-speed? I'm probably pulling one out and going auto. I'll have every part that goes with the 5-speed.

Would anyone get me the gfx pieces for a 91 f-bird the ones that connect from the bumper to the fender? And ship to illinois.

Damn, its down by Houston. I need a good 3rd gen salavge yard around the north Dallas/Texas area.

 

I used to work for the railroad driving trains,and the tracks run right behind that place, I would say from experience that lot goes under water, deeply under water frequently. Be carefull at what you offer on any electronics. Keep your eyes out for the snakes too.

Well, now for the bad news. Went to Terrels today to see what he had. Talked to owner and he now only sells cars and parts 30 years or older on his lot. The non-classic JY is owned by someone else and that is the buisness agreement they have between them. So, he crushed all those 3rd gens he had and sold them for scrap. The only 3rd gens left on the non-classic lot are 2 Camaros and 1 Firebird, all with V6's. Not much left on them. Don't bother going there, waste of time.

 

Not that I would ever had a chance to get there... But WOW is there some sort of Law in Texas where this guy should be shot and killed for doing this.....

 

That is bull ****, every time i dont have the time and money for something there is the parts, now i have the money and was fixing to see if Daniel wanted to go out there, you tell me this....the irony never ends.

 

Its the yard next door to Terrells that has the 3rd Gens. They are at the far back of the lot as you go through the gate. You'll see a lot of classic cars lined up by the fence. The card I have says Bills Antique Parts owner Bill Terrell. It is a seperate yard to the Terrells main yard and is only open weekdays.

I talked to him face to face. He also said things were in "turmoil", whatever that meant as I did not question him further on the matter. All I know is that it was a waste of gas and time. Next time,as I should already know, is to phone first. Cavet emptor. On the other hand, he could be lying as I did not go further into his lot than the office. Of course, that would not make sense. I saw all the old cars lined up along the fence area, did not go around back. Again, said it was a buisness agreement with the group next door( a bunch of Pakis) who I assume are the owners of that section of Terrels. Very dissapointing day. Badman

 

Its been a couple years since I was there but Allstate wrecking yard in Grand Prarie on Jefforson use to have 10-20 thirdgens at a time in the yard. If you call and ask for a part they say they don't have it. But if you go out there you normally can find what you need.

The same guy that has the hood, has a brand new 355 (never installed) with a new harness and ECM with a polished TPI intake complete, comp cam, crane roller rockers, the works...
