Re: Heater control valve
Not to be an ***-hat, but this is a readily available part (O'Reillys, etc.)
and to the best of my recollection a Jackson ought to cover it.

Re: Heater control valve
Parts stores carry them and they aren't that expensive. That's one part that you would rather have brand new.......

Re: Heater control valve
What exactly does the "heater control valve" do anyway?
I don't think my car came with one.

Re: Heater control valve
The water always flows through the heater core. As long as the temp control is not set to "heat" the air doesn't flow over the heater core and does not get hot.
Well, it might heat up a little...but it isn't much.

Re: Heater control valve
My 85 never had one. Some say that the water always running through the heater core is better in the long run as it never has a chance to sit up and rust due to non-use,which down here is about 90% of the time.

Re: Heater control valve
decided to do it when i pull the heads and redo the intakes and exhaust. im tired of all that rubber hose - and i have air so it does not actually get hot there.
i just want to clean things up and not have to deal with that 3 way valve.
i can always turn the heater off with a valve during summer if i want, but probably not.
