Anyone in DFW port heads?

I just had to pull my heads off for new head gaskets and figured I might as well port them. Theyre iron vortechs 906 casting, already machined for 2.02/1.60 valves and higher lift. They came that way, and if it as me, I would have had them ported at the same time the machining was done.

Looking for someone close to N. Arlington willing to do a little work for maybe a case of beer and a little cash? Who wants to help me get my RS breathin a bit better? The local shops want atleast $200 to do both, but I aint got that kinda cash right now and dont wanna hafta pull the heads again just to get them ported a few months from now.

damn too bad, I know a small shop in Grand Prairie run by some old white guys (one is my grandmothers boyfriend...) they did a set of lt1 heads for my brother that turned out very nice... very cheap.

Re: Anyone in DFW port heads?

I talked to a guy today thats done more porting and bench flow tests of GM heads than breaths Ive breathed in my life. He told me with my setup, my heads will flow plenty on the intake side, and would benefit slightly from porting on the exhaust. So until I wanna go with a bigger cam the unported heads will be fine . It was kinda impressive talking with this guy and him spitting out facts and figures and flow rates from the top of his head.
