I like the general idea...but meeting in Kemah is a pretty good ways off of the main freeways. I would be more in favor of meeting on I-45 and Nasa-1, or maybe somewhere closer in to town.

Re: a cruise in the fall.
i was throwing it out there. we can make a place to meet. and even change where we go. just wanting to know if we could agree on a place to meet and go that would be favorable to all. i have done plenty of cruises to galveston and even taken pics on the sea wall that were great.

I live close to Longview and Tyler and I'm definitely down for a cruise in the fall. Any chance a ls1 4th gen and big block 2nd gen could come? I have a 3rd but my buds drive the others.

So where would be a good place for us to meet up? And getting a general date idea would be great. I agree with the after Thanksgiving bit because i removed the A/C.

Re: a cruise in the fall.
if more people are willing to do this. we would meet on the north side of town to try to make it a central meet. then cruise to galveston. take pics on the seawall and go to eat or vise versa. then cruise on out from there. lemme know what you think. as we get closer and more people we will narrow it down to where.

North side of what town? I'm close to Tyler and Longview. About an hour from Dallas.

Re: a cruise in the fall.
well im down. i live in conroe about a ball hair from 45 so the north side meeting place sounds awesome but i know ppl from all over the houston area so its not an uncommon drive for me....specially in the bird. destination does not really matter to me either. although never really liked g town though. but its the cruise not the destination so it does not matter.

Re: a cruise in the fall.
I am in. I also second the notion of meeting somewhere more central Houston, but dont care where we end up from there.
My votes: Any Saturday. Meet somewhere right off 45 in inner city Houston. Destination to Galveston sounds good to me. Request we avoid 610, that road is too crappy and invites rockchips. Any car, sport compact, BBC Chevelle, whatever works for me. The more the merrier. Rodney.

Re: a cruise in the fall.
610 would be a good cruising road but if not for the problem that its really bumpy and crappy on the east side. One day I was driving the bird on the west side of town and suddenly I heard a loud rock chip. A piece of debris was big enough to leave 2 seperatre chips right next to eachother AND scratch the paint on the power buldge on the way up to the windshield. I was only behind a nissan maxima too, not a semi or anything. About a week later I was on it again, and heard another rock chip hit the windshield. Luckily this time there was no noticable chip. I figure any road with chunks of debris approx 1" across that do that much damage is a road worth avoiding if possible.

Looks to me like i'm closer everyday than when i bought her. Just need the new windshield... tags... pushrods installed ... a/c plenum installed ... vac and charge a/c... new passengerside window motor install and bleed the new brakes... I'm gunna wait on the rebuild of the front brakes.. i have everything cept the rotors, pads and struts.

I'd like to join in for a cruise. Sat or Sun would work for me. I stay over in the humble area.Central meet up location for a drive down to galveston would be the Almeda mall. Good size parking lot right off the 45s feeder. If people are still interested in a cruise.

The later the better. My project never ends. Also - somewhere scenic for some nice photos would be nice.

ok i suppose most that can make it early november can prolly make it late november.
meet up at ALMEDA MALL on 45 south. cruise to galveston and meet up somewhere to eat. then drive down the seawall to the end. i believe there is still the big wall on the left that many have taken pics on. then we can all go from there.

thats sounds like a good plan lance. but there might be a interference.
the seawall has way too many cops on that street. and galveston PD are a pain. i know several buddies that have gotten pulled over for all kinds of reasons that concern us: illegal exhaust, loud radio, HOT STICKERS!!! no license plates, etc etc. that concern us all. and i dont know if that would be a good idea with most of our mods and stuff. i dont know im just putting it out there man. i dont mean to rain on your parade and what not.

I'm up for it. Whenever, wherever. I think having it more central will have more turnout but, wherever it is, I'm coming. Just get me a date with as much notice as possible.
