12 volt constant in trunk hatch light?

I am installing some digi-tails and I need a 12 volt constant it says I should use the one in the fuse box but I really don't understand how to wire into the fuse box.

So I noticed that my trunk hatch light had an orange wire running to it and I was wondering if anyone knew if that had a 12 volt constant. IT does not turn on everytime I open the door or anything like that it has a little switch that turns it off and on.

Also how do I connect a T-TAP? DO I need to splice the wires? or do I just close it into the wire? I'm new to wiring and I want to do this right.

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks!

easiest thing to do is get a plug in spade connector and stick it right into the accesories slot in the fuse box... It should be labeled... if you wanna use the hatch light wire you can it is a 12v constant but your better off going to the fus box just for ease of service later... you could also use the 12v off the cig lighter... just a thought.. I used it once when my 12v constant to the stereo had a short in the dash... i abandoned it and used the cig lighter instead... saved me pulling my whole dash apart.. As far as wiring it in it really depends on how much volts the tails pull and at what amperage. I personally would run it to the fuse box which will give you a 30 amp draw... I think the rear trunk light is only on a 10 amp circuit..

Re: 12 volt constant in trunk hatch light?

the instructions specified the fuse box or the dome light, I figure the dome light and the hatch light are about the same right? So if on works so should the other. Correct me if I'm wrong...

sounds logical to me ... try it and see what happens... what's the worst that could happen...
